Just Installed TST Powermax

I just installed my TST Powermax. All I can say is WOW!!! ;D 8) ;D I had no idea that it would add that much power. It feels like adding a 125 shot of nitrous to a gasser. I am impressed! Man I am really gonna need new tires by winter now

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Have you thought about taking care of your clutch anytime soon? Only reason I ask is that I didn't see that in your sig, and that's going to be an issue with power mods.

Jack

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

No I haven't taken care of that yet. I plan on it soon though. Just plan on running till it breaks. I don't push it too hard very often so it should last a while.

Cool deal. I don't own a manual so I can't say for sure, but I know that many people here have reported good luck going with South Bend Clutch. You may already know about them, but if not, I would give them a call. Good luck with it. Sounds like you're having fun.

Jack

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Yes I bought a 2. Got it used for way cheap...couldn't pass it up. If you get the 3 you can only run it up to power level 6 i think if your trans or clutch if manual is stock. Level 6=Powermax 2. I will probably add an EZ later and some injectors. For now I am happy. ;D

PADZZ
TST Powermax is a computer to up the fueling of the stock ECM. Their website is www.tstproducts.com It was easy to install took about 30 minutes. I won't mention price here but you can find it on their site. Not sure on the '03 but if not they will soon. Give them a call.

It optimizes the fueling and timing map, and is available in three flavors: 1 (60 HP), 2 (90), and 3 (120). You can add a remote to any of these three boxes, and have a 10 level adjustable power box between 40 and 120 HP. These remotes are also available with EGT, Boost, and tranny temp gauges. For more info, head over the the TST Products site, www.tstproducts.com or a variety of the vendor sites who carry the TST line.

Install on 1998.5 - 2002s is quite easy, with three wires to run and simple mounting (remote and control box). Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

So from what I have just learned and what you have stated Rod, I can install a remote on mine and it is the same as the Powermax 3? It is badged as a Powermax 2 but has the "phone plug" in the back. Am I correct?

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Cool. Man I really got a good deal on the box then. I can't believe the difference the box makes. Our trucks at work are all bombed 12v but I don't think they compare. Then again I haven't put 20k behind my truck yet so I really can't compare the two, yet. Oh well, for now I am happy! ;D

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Ok, I am looking at alternate places to mount the box until I get the remote. Where do you guys have them mounted? I like being able to see it currently, but that will probably change. I have it temp. jammed into the ash tray. Convenient but not attractive. Also where is a good place to mount the remote? I am considering getting the remote with the guages. Anybody got them? How well do they work? Thanks for any input.

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Yes, the TST PowerMax is a nice unit. As you can see from my sig I have the PowerMax 3. VERY easy to install, the HP/TQ that TST states is absolutely true (Dyno Proved).

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

Oh I am definately aware of the power output of the TST. I was curious about the accuracy of the guages on the remote and to where most people mount the box and the remote. Any help/advice would be great. I would like it to be easily seen but out of the way, if you know what I mean.

Re:Just Installed TST Powermax

I have the remote mounted in the flip down coin tray / ash tray or what ever you call it. Then the power unit is mounted sideways to the bottom of center console. As far as the accuracy...I would guess as close as you could get.
