pick up the recent issue of Diesel Power magazine, in the challenge they have a DMAX running propane and they recorded 38mpg. I am trying to learn more about this as I have easy access to propane.

it was cng but wouldn't propane have a similar result or does it effect the diesel in a different way then cng would

Isn't CNG methane? So technically it should have less energy content than propane; hence, you'd get better mileage with propane. Diesel Power is full of BS imo. Last month they claimed a DMax broke mid 30 mpg's with straight #2.

it did. it was mounted on a go cart chassis

Yeah, if you read the article it said that basically everyone cheated. Tires aired up to a million psi, etc. Not your average driving habits.... As far a propane goes, do you have to have an expensive setup or is there a simpler DIY way? Don't really want to spend $500 to add propane but would do it for a hundred or so....
