I think the reason why the TST produces less smoke is that, it will only start to fuel at a certain PSI. Untill your boost gets to a certain PSI, the box is doing nothing. When it gets to the certain PSI, it brings on the fuel hard and has really increased the spool up of my sledpuller over the drag comp. I know that on sub levels, the number 5 setting of the comp, it is delievering i think 67% fuel with no boost, hence all the smoke. I could see how the TST box would be slower of the line if it was not stacked with a timing box. The timing box helps with low end and spool up, thus getting you to the PSI # that the TST box needs to be at to start to add fuel quicker. I hope this makes sense.

hey CTD, how do you like your mach 6s? is that your everyday driving truck? how much power are the 6s rated at and how bad is your egts with them? very curious because i think my measly ole 165hp just arent doing it for me any more.

I dont think that you will be dissapointed with the TST box, i think you will like it. I like mine alot. I like the Mach 6s, they are a nice smooth injector. The truck is not my daily driver, instead i roll around most the time in a 1990 Toyota 4runner, but i am currently looking for a used 12v for work. Egts are a little higher then i would like to seem them at cruising speeds, about 800 to 900 of a flat grade at 75mph, but once boost comes on they settle right down and are not to bad. When i am just cruising in the truck, i usally have both boxes off and only turn them up when need be. They are rated at 220hp which i can not prove. I was previoulsy running Bully Dog stage 5 and dynoed 480, 880 torque on a dynojet with a drag comp, when i dynoed again i only gained 5hp, but a surprising 200+ ftlbs with everything else the same but on a mustang dyno. To get a real accurate gain, i need to go back to the dynojet that i had been using.

So in the end, with a HO motor, which box should a guy run??? Should he run a TST PM3 or a TST PM3 Comp vs. running the EDGE COMP???

If i had an HO motor, i would just stay with the Edge box. The guys at TST told me that TST PM3 and TST PM3 comp will pretty much produce the same amount of power, i am guessing that this holds true for the Edge box as well. I was told that the PM3 and PM3 Comp only give about 80hp to an HO motor. This was taken from the TST website: The HO (High Output) engine (2001-2002) already has 245 HP and the PMCE (Competition) does not make as much of a difference and adds 80HP and 310 lb-ft of Torque.

yeah i only have 165hp sticks and i know i know my baby ATS turbo is way to small for my application and right now i am seeing the same as you , 800 to 950 on flat ground at 75 and when my DRAG comp is turned on i ped my 1600 degree pyro quick. thats as high as my gauge goes and i am affraid to know how really hot it gets.

averages between 6 and 8. but if i hit any little hill it will climb to 1100. to 1200 and stay there, wont go any higher. with the DRAG comp off, with just the sticks, it tops out at 1250 egt wise and thats fine with me but with the box on, man she gets hot fast

yeah that does seem to get hot pretty fast. If i hit a grade, the boost will go up to about 10 psi and 1000 degrees, then it will falls back to about 900/950. What size is the turbo your running?

ATS aurora 2000. its way to small for the amount of fuel that i have. i either need to sell it and get a BIG single or dish out 3500$ and upgrade to the ATS twin setup.

seriously, if anything, i would say my stock HX35. i mean i can only hit 39psi on a good day and it will occasionaly spike to 44 to 46 psi. when i had this turbo with just the DRAG comp and no sticks, it worked great. cooled fast and egts never went above 1100. now that i have all this fuel its like i am basically using a stocker. sucks right now and man, when the box is on, talk about smoke that dosent clear up. i could black out a freeway no prob right now which is defintely not a good thing

CTD2001, so what you are saying is the edge comp box makes more power? How come everybody wants to trade their EDGE box for a TST box. They are all saying that the TST fuels so much harder and is worth the switch??? I just would like to know if I should bother to spend the money on a new TST box or not??

same thing here but i already paid for one and am just waiting for it to get here. the thing is the DRAG comp works great. very very smooth delievery of fuel and so on and is rated at 120hp. the TST competition box is rated at 180hp and is way more aggresive with the fuel and you get shudder if you let off on the higher levels. the nice thing about the TST is that its a FUEL only box so you can stack it with any timing box like the EZ or Smarty. makes for the ultimate hp stack.
