just installed DD3's

I had rv275's and ran across a killer deal on some DD3's and finally had a chance to install them. The power is really awesome. The midrange and top end has improved a ton over the rv275's. Driving normal I have little to no smoke, but they will smoke pretty heavy even with the box off if I push them. The egts are not too bad either. We will see how she does towing later this week, but I have a feeling a new turbo is next on my list.

Im thinking about selling my EZ to get a comp and want to know your fellings. I want to be able to run injector only to tow and comp on 5x5 to play around town. I know Ill need a clutch & air soon after, but I would like your opinion.

Thanks,
Jamie

That is my exact plan...tow with the box on 1x1 or off. I think 1x1 gives less power then the box off at low end (I know it smokes less) I havent towed with it yet though so my opinion wont mean too much. I will follow up though.

Big Deezul, are these the ones i sold you about a month ago?

how did you ever figure the problem with the "mix-up"?

you will love them for towing, they give plenty of power but not too much heat and smoke

Man it works great. I run the box on 1x1 for timing when towing. And yep, it does smoke less on 1x1 than it does with the box completely off. As for air and a clutch, I really dont think I need more air, the old HX is keeping up pretty good. And the clutch deal, well I guess I am one of those owners who got lucky and my stock one is still holding on...somehow. Dadgum Jamie, we never did get together, We'll have to do it next semester I guess. Did you get your FP gauge all finished?

Hey Caleb,
I just order the Vulcan Pusher kit, if your still in town come over and help me install it, if not well get together next semester. My stock clutch hasnt slipped at all with the ez and III's, maybe it will hold ok with another 60hp.

The only way I could tell was from the color of the copper washer. On the stocker they were like a 1981 penny and the dd3's looked like the color of a new penny. I thought I was gonna have to send them in since they had the same numbers....but my wife actually figured it out

I pulled a small trailer yesterday on 1x1 and it never got above 900. We will see how she does with my rig in a few days

You'll love them... I've got about 80K on the injectors.. and the box.. (installed box at 34K.. injectors about 95K.. about 174K on the truck..)
Loaded heavy on a very hot day.. I have to run with the box off.. but if its under 100.. or I've only got one tractor on.. I can run on level 1 or two... but I normal.. stick to level one...
Great power.. I could pick up more HP if I could feed a little more air.. to me a 100Hp injector with an adjustable box is about the best around injector size for most people.. if you add a little more air.. you can use the higher setting for hauling.. if stock.. just run on lower settings...
Good Luck..
Bryan
