Spray some PB on the bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold and then peck where the turbo and maniflod meet. That should make the bolts loosen up easier. It did for me

Not really a break in needed but I would baby it a couple heat cycles and make sure the turbo to manifold bolts are tight after it cools to dead cold (overnight). Some guys say baby it for a 100-200 miles to let it loosen up before it gets much soot build up but with big injectors good luck on that one.As far as priming dump oil in the top before you put the oil line on and you should be good to go.

Use a little squirter bottle, eye dropper, pipette, etc to push a little oil in the feed hole before you hook up the line and spin the compressor blades with you hand to work the oil into all the bearings and such. We're talking 1 cup of oil or so to do a thorough job. You can actually work some oil in before you even install it through the larger oil drain on the bottom. Just pour in out of a quart bottle and turn the blades to work the oil in.

What's breakin? Just drive it normal and if I were you, I'd do a run to 15, 20, 30psi, so on. Check for boost leaks.

It's a lot easier to adjust the wastegate rod before you install the turbo. If you want to run 45 psi boost, you need to adjust the rod length, by turning the threaded portion to shorten the rod. Then pull the silicone tube off and put a little regulated shop air into the silicone tube. If you set the wastegate to start moving at 45psi shop air, it will start opening at 38-40 psi when installed because the exhaust drive pressure also tried to blow open the wastegate so it opens sooner than you preset it.

If you want 45psi max, set it for 50 psi or so with the shop air.

If you have a boost elbow, it is easy to fiddle with/ fine tune after your turbo is installed so no need to mess with it before install.

And put the oil drain on the new turbo on the bench before trying to fit it into place. Its a pita to get to when the turbo is mounted.

I'd say it's the 14cm housing making it feel more laggy. I went from an HX35 to a 62/12 and noticed more lag. It will just take geting used to.

For smoke control run the Edge on 1x1 and learn to be easy on takeoff...Its the nature of the beast.

If im easy on it taking off I only get a real slight haze. If I just put it to the wood it turns day into night and the cars are stoped waiting for the sun to come up

After some miles, that turbo will loosen up and start to spool up a little faster.

Good point, a few miles and you will feel it start to spool a bit better and not smoke as much.
