Juice is on but wire not tapped...yet
So I installed my Juice w/attitude package last night. Got everything hooked up except the EGT probe and tapping the pump wire. Not much(if any) power gain over the Van Aaken box(I left it plugged in for now).
I really like the gauges. Now I know what my truck is doing!
Fuel pressure is 14psi idle and 6psi @WOT. This is with a brand new Delphi pump in the stock location. I have a Holley Blue that will go on soon.
Boost hits a max of 20psi when pushed hard on a grade, seems low..... the old '92 I had hit 32psi.
I'm going to try to tap the wire and install the EGT probe tonight, I hope I see more of a power boost after that....
Any harm in leaving the Van Aaken box on? Its an older model that doesn't plug into the map sensor just the big plug going to the VP.

Throw a turnbuckle on your wastegate to lock it shut and you will see about 32-34psi. Or if you don't wanna mess with the turnbuckle you can buy the J-hook which will give you 26-28psi. The turnbuckle from a hardware store is like $3.00 and the J-hook is I think around $50.00. Once you tap that wire you will notice a monster difference

Both the VA and Edge add timing, so stacking the too isn't good. And you're not gaining anything with them both being there. 65 hp out of the VA, or the untapped Edge. Put them together, you still have 65.

your edge should have come with an elbow to put in the turbo to upp the boost, unless you have an auto, and you will have to j-hook it or use a turnbuckle. Sorry just read you sig, tap it and turnbuckle it and hang on!

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping that I could live without tapping the wire and thus thought that maybe leaving the VA box on would add fuel. Ok I'll get it off there, ya know come to think of it the engine did seem more "growly" today. I couldn't put my finger on it but maybe it had too much timing?
I'm going out now to tap the wire and put the EGT probe in. I'll research the turnbuckle and maybe do that this weekend.

Ok thats better! That wire is tapped, the EGT probe is in and I even found a turnbuckle for the wastegate in my junkpile! Who says being a packrat doesn't pay?
It was a bit difficult to play as it snowed today but the good news is I'm seeing 30psi of boost bad news is on settign 4&5 the fuel pressure drops to 2psi and its pretty easy to hit 1200* on the pyro. I have a Holley Blue pump that will hopefully go in this weekend. Might have to start looking for a 4" exhaust.
Thanks for the tips!

If you are doing the holley blue you are going to have to cut the spring to get the pressure down with the stock lift pump. If not using the stocker in conjuction withthe holley, you will be fine with it by itself. You need a min of 10 psi to be nice to the vp44, you can get a little lower but i dont think it is healthy for it,some things dont like to be on diets!

I'm not following you, are you saying that if I use the stock pump and the Holley that the pressure will be too high? I didn't think that was possible.
