depends on which version...most are good for 475-600hp...those will have the smaller 14cm housing...there is the larger one like i have with a 16cm housing which spools slower, but flows ALOT of air and can support up to 750hp in a race only application. daily drivable hp of about 650 tho

the inducers start at 64mm and go into the 72 but most are made with a 64 or 66 as i was told by JR adkins himself

he didnt ask that...he asked for specs on the 55

at least it does spool...eventually, launching hard in second gear and going WOT, the charger starts to light at the top of 3rd seeing about 25-30psi, shift to 4th and it takes off around 2000rpms, by 2200rpms im seeing 47psi and you better hold on. 5th and 6th gear are the same way. now if i am rolling along in 5th or 6th gear and decide to punch it and take off...it takes about 3-4 seconds to see full boost depending on what rpm and speed you started at.

The lil 55 is 64 mm compressor bore. can be had with 14 or 16 cm2 HX-40 turbine. Very sweet in the 500 to 600 hp range. Short term racing, all out power, up to 700 hp, IMO. The 16 cm2 turbine housing just brings air in slower.... not any more air....and could work well with a shifter. I would never put a 16 on an auto, for daily driving.
If your B-1 is a full B-1, I'm not sure you'll gain much... just better street manors.
HX-55's moves a lot of air, and as mentioned, JR has many sizes bigger. Reg HX-55 starts at 66 mm compressors....JR has 72,74,76.... and one bigger... solely for pullers.
JR does great work...all the upgrades done in B-1's, plus. His turbos are not cheap....but mine appears bullet proof. It's quieter than my B-1 and almost impossible to bark. Also never surges!

These are big turbos (see B-1/HX-55 pic in gallery). Have learned if I half- throttle mine up to 10 psi boost before punching it I get great results.

I've been told that big single turbos are like monogamous sex:

You find out that it was worth the wait after all

It's worth noting that the performance RJ is getting from this turbo used to be considered something only twins could give you.

The proper context is that it's amazing that you can have even remotely acceptable turbo manners in something that will support 550-600hp.

It used to be that you settled for a laggy full B1 that will still get toasty at 500hp or you had to buy twins.

Not that JR's turbo is "new" but it's definitely one of the bellweather "big singles" that was among the first to support big power with acceptable street manners

When I see these guys knocking down 550+ hp with with a single on fuel only and still have a streetable truck, I can't help but think to myself:

LIFE IS GOOD!!

Don't hesitate to call J.R he is a great guy, who sells great products! He is very good about matching a setup (turbo) to your specific needs...kind of like a taylor-made suit

As for spooling issues with the lil '55 it shouldn't be too bad at all. The charger he made me is much larger than the lil' 55, and with a auto it will light before 2100 rpm. This charger clean-burnt 650cc's of fuel being pushed through 370's...J.R.'s turbos can move air and make big horsepower!

You can reach him at 317-281-3130.

maybe i still have a serious issue yet to be discovered but i will tell you that WOT this charger is only making 10-12psi at 2,000rpms and a little after that is when it lights and climbs quickly into the 40's

there are no boost leaks or exhaust leaks...so i have no idea
