J hook and fuel questions.

I was looking for more out of my truck so I picked up the TST j-hook. I am new to diesel truck but not turbo systems. And haven't ever dealt with a turbo system using MAP sensors.

I am getting about 35-36psi at WOT with the J hook installed. That is a 15 psi increase from what I was getting before with just my Edge Juice. With that boost increase without anymore fuel shouldn't the truck be running lean? I used to get a nice poof of smoke at when I got on it hard, but now there is no smoke at anytime.

I keep the Edge on level 3 most of the time in fear of my slopomatic transmission.

Am I running short on fuel? Would anyone recommend the Edge Jammers? I was looking at the 75hp level.

Thanks for the input.

Also, are there any dangers to the truck I should be looking at?

I have a j-hook on mine running my edge juice on level 3 for 3 years now and never had a problem with lean fuel.

if your worried about leaning out your diesel, dont...forget it thats gasser issues. you should worry when your too rich! you cannot hurt a diesel running it lean. lean means cooler egts and longer engine life. black smoke = higher egt's unburnt fuel, and wasted power.

I believe your at the outter limits of the stock turbo. any more and its just hot air. If you have less smoke @ wot, that means you have enough air for the fuel that the edge is providing. I have 80hp injectors, and with the edge on 5x5 I belch more smoke than the turbo can clean up

Your trans is in danger. Ordering my Goerends this week. I've got DD1s plus the comp and on 5x5 I can smoke pretty good. Next mod will be looking for a HX35 probably since I can get one really cheap.
