It's Here (Toy's/Bombing Equiptment)

Got all my toys today, Mark from Diesel Performance got me all the stuff in 2 day, Edge Comp Box, Boost Guage with all the trimings, Pyro with all the Trimings and the A-Pillar Pod with speaker. I only have one question, Where can i get a 3/4npt to 1/8 npt for the boost guage tried the local napa with no luck. Hope to start the install process tonight and finish tomorrow evening. Any suggestions before starting?

Home depot or a plumbing store should have it.

This probably sounds dumb...but do you have to drill into the intake to hook up the boost guage or can you just -T- into a map sensor line?

This engine is all new to me so I don't know....bear with me.

There is a plug right behind the MAP sensor you can remove. It has a 1/2" square hole in it. Make sure you get the right one. Reason I say this is because there is one right next to it that is a coolant plug. That one has a 3/8" hole in it. Get the one with a 1/2". I learned this the hard way. You will need a 3/4" NPT to 1/4" NPT (biggest one at Home Depot I could find) and then a 1/4" NPT to 1/8" NPT reducer.

Got the Edge Comp Installed Last Night. The controller box fits nice in the ash tray. Ran the truck for a few minutes about 30 after the install However did not get past power level 4 (don't have my guages installed yet had to paint the pod). Lots of power though. One question is it normal to get alittle bit of smoke before boost comes up good? I have read that smoke is a sign of not enough air is this true. I also found out several things about my truck last night. 1. the VP-44 has been replaced says remanfactured right on top of it. 2. that d@%n wire is hard to get to. 3. That rearend is awful light when the box is on 4x5 (can't wait to see or feel 5x5). 4. It also appears that the clutch has been replaced fairly recently (good for me). 5. With this box, I can out run a mustang GT. (buddy has one and in 1/8 mile i was easily pulling away. More to come as the guages get installed.
