I am wanting to add an pyro &amp; boost guage on the A pillar of my truck and there are so many different choices on parts, so I wanted to see what everyone likes to use when it comes to Isspro guages.<br><br>The ones I have been eyeing are the R607T pyro, the R8603 boost guage, or the Turbocator R609 (but wonder if 30lb is high enough for the boost guage?).<br><br>I also wonder what thermocouples work best (I have a jacobs exhaust brake) so I thought I would tap into the elbow there. there are the leads with or without plugs. which is best for this application?<br><br>I would like to do it right the first time so any suggestions are welcome!<br><br>Thanks,

I have the plain black and white Issapro guages. get a 40psi boost guage/or just buy a 60psi one and I will trade you my 40psi Put the pyro probe pre turbo.<br>DM01

I too have the plain b/w isspro fuel (30#) and boost (60#), but the isspro ev 0-1500 pyro is cool. ;D Rainbow dial, 0-950f is green, 950-1250f is yellow and 1250-1500f is red. Easy to read with just a glance. Pushrod can get you fixed up 8)<br>jmho

Same as TXRAM2; hard to beat for the money. This is the second CTD that I have had these ISSPRO guages on, and never had a problem with even a light bulb burning out in them. Got mine from Rod at Wildcat Diesel.

Stick to the EV (enhanced visibility) series - The 3607 line of pyros and the 5623 boost gauge.<br><br>Rod

You will want at least a 60# boost gauge. this will give you some room for bombing. As I said in another thread I would suggest digital gauges as they are easier to read and record for later checking. Also the are not a lot more.<br>Bruce

Go with the EV line up. Very cool and better lighting. The colored dial on the pyro is great. I also got the 60# boost.<br>

In racing, we don't like digital gauges where the numbers are large and change rapidly. Speed or boost might be ok - - the numbers are low and change rather slowly - - much easier to read. When the numbers are large like EGT and change quickly, it is hard to &quot;feel&quot; the trend in the change. You will seldom see a digital gauge for RPM for example in a race car - - you feel your shift point by the movement of the pointer and anticipate the point at which it will be where you want to shift. Digital numbers are changing so rapidly on the RPM it is very difficult to get that feel. I think EGT's would be the same - - large numbers and changing rapidly. The change becomes a blur.

FiverracingteenagehotrodBob, ;D is correct. When accelerating and towing, goin up thru the gears, the egt will move almost as fast as your tach. If it is digital, you'll be seeing constantly changing #'s and have no idea of where you are. Kinda like using a digital voltmeter on flutuating voltages.<br>just my lil ol 0.02 8)<br>wk

I know I'm not Rod ;D but I would chose the shorty thermocouple. Thats so you dont have the rest hanging out of the exhaust or manifold. And I would also get the 1/8 size incase you put it in the manifold you dont have to drill this big honkin hole. As for the connector, I didnt get the plug because of the time frame it would have taken to get but it sounds cool. The only thing I could see being a problem with the plug is if the plug is on both ends of the lead then you will have to shove a big plug connector through the fire wall instead of the two small wire end of the other type.
