Who out there has made intake manifolds for the 24valve? I have seen pictures of a competition orented shop who cut off the manifold on the head and fabricated a new one. Who was that?

 

Performance Diesel Warehouse is the shop that makes the aluminum manifold. I am looking to do the same thing to a spare 24v head I have laying around.

 

ZZ Profab makes them, PDW distributes them. I think XLR8 on here makes them too. I think it is kind of a waste for aluminum or stainless steel, if it is done solely to resist rust it is piontless IMO because the stock head is cast iron and it doesn't rust on the inside. I am going to make one myself out of 3/8" and 1/4" plate for 12v heads...

 

Looks like something that could be done in the shop. Hmm. now I need a spare head to measure. High def plasma is not a water jet or laser, but its close

 

I am gonna be making my own also. $1k is way to much for me when I have all the resources to make one where I work. I will burn it out on our laser at work and weld it up. Only thing I'm worried about is drilling the bolt holes in the head? I don't wanna hit any water jackets or go too deep. Anybody got a pattern to go by? How deep can I go with the holes?
