How do you tell which type of limited slip you've got, 98.5 with a dana 70?

back to original question of friction modifier:

If you go with a synthetic most are fine right from the bottle.

Don't get over zealous on adding modifier. Add an ounce or two and drive it hard to completely saturate the friction material. This is going to take a couple hundred miles.

Start saving up for a new rear end. If the lock-wrong for the Dana 80 is ANYTHING like the ones for the Dana 60, you are gonna make SOOOOOO much noise, and eventually they will snap the shafts. If you want a true locker in ther,e spend the skrill and get yourself a Detroit. The Lock-Wrong replaces ONLY the side gears, and not the carrier. It works great for a front axle, but it will wreak havoc on your rear end. Your head will hate you for it too. I have been rockcrawling for over 10 years now, and you can hear that rear end coming froma mile away... Clang, Bam, Clang, Bam...

Actually the4re are two kinds from DC. in 1998 was teh change over and phasing out of the power lok. the latter versions use the same visually exterior bolt together case but the interior is machined and installed with Trac lok components.
