Installed custom 100 plate and......
Just installed a custom 100 plate into my 97 that I had in my 94 before I sold it... The truck seems to pull a little harder and longer but not the noticeable difference I was expecting.. Is the lack of 3K spring kit the reason I don't feel a huge difference?
On my 94 when I installed the #10 plate it really woke up the truck even before I installed the 3K....

Where is your AFC set to? Your AFC has to get out of the way for the arm to contact the plate. If your AFC is tight and towards the rear, you might never get to the plate.

I have only had my truck for about 3 weeks but now that I think about it I have heard what sounds to be my blow off valve seem extremely loud when I get to around 2200 RPM's. It's a constant blowing sound if I stay at a higher RPM.
When I purchased the truck the 5th gear was out so I had to drive home in 4th about 90 miles. When I was on the freeway I could hear what I though was the blow off valve staying on if I went past 65 mph. Maybe I have a boost leak......
I will do a search and see what I find about boost leaks.....

Well, your truck most likely doesn't have a blow off valve, so it could very well be a boost leak. If you have a boost leak, you will likely have low power and no smoke out of it other than normal off idle. You could remove the arm from the AFC to get full fueling to see if that is your problem.

Thanks Nate. I meant waste gate when I was referring to blow off valve....... I am on pain meds right now and a little out of it....
Where are all the spots I should ckeck for boost leaks?
All boot connections to and from inter-cooler......
Line coming into back of AFC housing.......

You must be out of it, you misspelled my name that was right above your post in big bold letters.
Those would be the main culprits. The boots that go to the aftercooler can rub a fender and split. Look for loose clamps. The intake manifold gasket. If it is leaking at the AFC, it won't take much for you to lose travel. You might have a rotten diaphragm in there that is letting the boost past and not moving.

Thanks Kate........ LOL... Just kidding...... gotcha ya....
Does the 100 plate need more RPMS such as the 3K kit to take full advantage of the plate?
I guess I am comparing how my 94 felt. But it was a lot more modded. Check my sig for how my 94 was setup......

My truck started defuelling around 2200 rpm or so. So you're gonna feel that with any plate you put in there. The 3k's will make a big difference with that plate.

Tate I found the issues. I guess when I had installed the 100 plate forward the boost line on the back of the AFC housing had come out of the fitting. Just fixed and the truck runs great.
