Installed Comp/truck died

Installed comp and was taking a test drive. Truck ran good but a first bucked a little on level 1 and then it was good. Drove around for 10-15 minutes and then when I let off after a small pull it just died. I had to tow it home with my Powerstroke. I got it back and disconnected the comp and tried to start it, nothing. Checked the fuel pressure and it has about 12-13 psi. Any ideas???<br><br>thanks,

Re:Installed Comp/truck died

I unhooked the comp. and plugged back into the factory connector. Would a MAP sensor cause it to die and create a no start or just a check engine light?

Ran for about 15-20 minutes then just died. <br><br>I really hate to say it (and I hope I'm wrong) but it sounds like a classic case of Dead Injection Pump with the early 24Valve engines. :'(<br>

Re:Installed Comp/truck died

That sort of sucks. Anybody know of a good way to cover up the mark from the scotch lock??<br><br>Any way to check the connections where the wire goes into the top of the pump. Maybe when I hooked up the pump wire pulled away from the contacts inside. Might just be wishful thinking. Does Wildcat Diesel rebuild pumps?

Sorry to hear about that. A little advice on the &quot;scotch locks&quot;, never use them! ...They will only cause you problems and grief in the long run, and do some wierd things that will drive you crazy!

NEVER USE SCOTCH LOCKS!

Allways solder and shrink tube it! Lasts forever. Just my .02 cents. 8)

Re:Installed Comp/truck died

Some have tried a product called &quot;Liquid Tape&quot; or something like that to &quot;Hide&quot; the Scotch-Loc mark.

Re:Installed Comp/truck died

If you havent already spliced the wire, get a blue chip top. Has the wire connection so you dont have to void your warranty!

Re:Installed Comp/truck died

What's under the cover on top of the pump (the one secured with torq head screws) I'm still hoping the connection inside was disturbed when I put the pump wire on.

If you've pinned the wire in any way, shape, or form, you'll only be lucky if Bosch or the dealer doesn't see it.<br><br>Rod
