Installed the comp today Wow!

Well I finally got around to hooking up the edge comp, I installed the BD pump cove, pics should be up tonight, nice product mad the wire tap easy and clean should last a long time. If you ever though about getting a timing/fueling box let me tell you just SPEND THE MONEY! it is well worth it my truck drives like a totally differnt vehicle. I set the comp on 3,scared to turn it up any higher and when I pulled out of the driveway I hit the gas and the boost was there instantly BAM 25 PSI! the tires were spinning and I had to let off it not sure how high the boost would of went but man what a blast, I can not beleive the differnt the boost comes on intantly and it seem to keep coming. HMM wounder what 4 and 5 are like now that is scary. Well I better start saveing for the trans upgrades now, when does the spending money stop the wife is going to kill me. sorry for the lonng post. cant get the smile off my face YEA!

Congrats... I installed my comp 6 months ago. I haven't even tapped the wire but just in EZ mode the thing had me grinning ear to ear and it was night and day when towing. I still haven't tapped the wire, don't have any plans to either, after installing injectors this morning I'm happy as can be!

what a difference, huh? glad the cover worked well, made mine a snap, too.

CTD99, why not tap the wire? even if you don't use the power gains the added adjustability is great. i find when towing that using the sublevels on 2 or 3 kames better response but less smoke than 5. i guess the ability to turn the box on/off is worth it even if you don't tap that pump wire.

Patience.........

I drove mine for 3 years in EZ mode (no wire) until I got my trans upgraded.
I've still only punched it up to 3X3 so far.
That's my every day driving setting.

I'll get it up to level 5 soon enough, still just a little hesitant about the Injection Pump.

Original 99 pump, I'd have a little cushion in savings before going 5x5.

Isn't it obvious?... because I'm a panzy! Honestly though, I am scared. I've suffered one VP44 death already and that is a $2500 experience I am not going to risk repeating... at least not until I have a couple grand burning a hole in my bank account... then I will tap the wire. For now, my truck has me smiling plenty!

Mach 1.6 EDM injectors from Formula 1 Diesel (Don M). I guess they are around 85HP give or take.

Yup, it is cool. I TOTALLY agree. , I've had mine fer a couple months. Gotta really keep a close eye on that fuel pressure though. I didn't, costed me a VP44.
Oh well, live and learn.
The tranny will need something too, if you plan on level 5. I know a valve body and super HD conv is the best, but thats HUGE dollas, so I went with just a BD torq loc & lockup switch. Helped a ton.
HAVE FUN MAN!

If you run the stock lift pump, you'll run out of fuel at 5, sub 5. I've run 5, 5 for lots of miles. The only thing is that its hard on rear tires and your tranny. I have about 100000miles running the comp box with the stealth plate. Your stock turbo will start to turn that nice bronze color with bigger injectors.
