Installed #10 plate, few questions.
Hey!
I'm a newbie here. First off I'd like to thank everyone for all the useful info I've read on this board while I've been lurking!
I have a 96 Ram Diesel as stated in my sig, with 4 inch MBRP exhaust, BHAF and a newly installed #10 plate. The truck currenly has roughly 312000 KMs, or around 195,000 miles and runs great. I'm wondering what can go wrong at this stage due to the added power? what should I be watching out for?
Also, its a newer stock clutch (under 50k miles), how long will it last before I have to replace it? I do drive the truck hard at times, but I don't beat on it constantly. I rarely pull anything, maybe a 185 air compressor at times if that makes any difference.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks
Mike

I have
a stock clutch, with a banks full forward, now in stock position due to fuel prices. If you dont beat on it too much it wont slip very much, i beat on mine mercilessly at times and it does slip, but lately i have not, you shouldnt be too worried bout it, that air compressor you tow, shouldnt make a difference, and as for your mileage? shouldnt be an issue either...
best of luck and enjoy ur new toy

I 2nd the gauges. Boost and pyro. You will be fine till you can get some gauges, and get them in, so dont panic, just dont run it hard for very long, and you will be fine. Your good to go other than gauges though.

I think a lot depends on how you drive. I could slip mine in 4th or 5th getting heavy on the right foot around 1400 - 1500 rpm. 2nd or 3rd didn't seem to slip.
You might also want to check the timing and have it bumped up a couple of degrees.

Thanks for the info guys!
I don't beat on the truck all the time... on occasion I do, but I try to be reasonable because of my lack of gauges. As for the gauges, they are ordered, and will be installed as soon as they get here, I don't want to take any chances.
Thanks again..
Mike.
