Insructions to putting in a 13spd shifter...
I just finished up putting in an Eaton Fuller 13 Speed shifter in my CTD. Doesnt look that bad (I will put some pictures up soon). Here is what I did just in case anyone else is interested.
Here is what you will need:
1 - 1/2" Coarse thread bolt
1 - 10mm connector nut (Looks like a long not, about an inch long)
1 - 10mm standard nut
A tube of thread locker
Access to a welding machine
**Might have to cut down the length of the nuts and bolts to adjust for how high you want the shifter to sit*
1. Start by welding the connector nut to the top of the 1/2" bolt.
2. Put some thread locker on the 1/2" bolts threads and screw it into the shifter and let it set up.
3. Remove the standard shift ****. On mine you just unscrewed it from the shaft, didnt have to take off the shifter pattern thing in the middle.
4. Screw on the 10mm standard nut, this will be your lock nut.
5. Screw on your shifter/connector nut and adjust the lock nut and shifter till you get it aligned.
If you think the shifter looks kind of odd sitting on top of the skinny shaft here is an idea. I had some black copper tubing insulation. I cut off a piece and slid it down the shafter and then screwed on the shifter. It looks good! I might take it off and put a coat of paint on it or something though, will have to wait and see.
Check back tomorrow and I will have some pics up hopefully.

Are you using the swtich for anything? Is it an air switch, or electric? I'd like to get one for an 18 speed so I can use switches for an exhaust brake, and maybe a line lock. Can't find any info if they are air or electric. Found several stockers on ebay, but I like the looks of this one. Really expensive though.

Haha noooo....I dont pull that much, I have heard of something you can drop in the tranny that gives you another set of gears, I guess it would be the low range. I am sure it is $$$$ and is a lot of work though.

I'm not joking about this, a few years back i saw like a 95 or 96 ford F350 on ebay that was powered by an 8.3 L cummins mated to a 9 spd. Definately all custom work from the looks of but it did look pretty cool. I think the axles and suspension were upgraded on the truck, I think it rode on air bags.

I read an article a long time ago in Petersons 4wheel and off road that they did on a guy who had a dodge 12v 3500 4x4 with a few inches of lift, and 19.5 I think but he fabbed in a Spicer 7 speed. That would be sweet for a heavy hauler.

guy just sold a 10spd on ebay with all the parts to fit in a 12v 4x4. Said he sold the truck so he put the stock trans back in. Think the whole thing went for a grand plus shipping. If only I had the extra cash.
