How much power will the 1 1/4 input shaft handle? Is there an upgrade to a 1 3/8 input shaft? How much does it cost? I have been looking at getting a new clutch lately. I know that I will be going with a 13" clutch. How do the different clutch compounds act? Organic is probably the smoothest engagement, then feramic/organic,then ceramic, then full feramic. I found a clutch on e-bay that has a 2800lb plate load and is supposed to hold 500hp and 1000ft/lbs of torque. The 2 people that have bought them have left positive feedback so I am guessing that they like them. Here is the link. I'm an auto guy, so my advice is to do a search and read on it. Also, call Peter at southbend clutch, he is well respected with diesel clutches.

 

they say the 1 1/4 is good to 500, but if your really rough you could break it at 450 (for example) so it depends on what your plans are. if they are for over 500 you will need it as you will need a dd clutch anyway

 

i broke mine before i dynod my truck so i know they are not that strong but a single peace billet one are pretty cheap to replace
