Input on Jammer Nozzles

I have a Edge Comp, stock turbo etc, How big of jammer nozzles can i go and still be able to turn the box down a bit and tow a fairly heavy load. I want to have the most power i can but still be able to use it and not just be a dyno queen. I think they come in 50,75,100 and 125, I have a extra set of cores to biuld up so i can keep my stockers. Don't get me wrong i would love to lay down 400hp but it has to be user friendly while towing. I would appreciate you guys input on which way to go, i am new to the Cummins world.

I have +125/155 HP BD XXX pulse nozzles on mine. I turn the TST box off, leave the EZ in ( the EZ actually LOWERS EGT a bunch due to the advanced timing) and pull my 9 to 10k trailer all day long up those turnpike and RT 80 grades in the heat of summer. I have never seen more than 1,300F like this, pulling the nastiest grade on 80, but if I forget to turn the TST down to 0 though thats a different story

I also have a totally wide open 4.5" exhaust/stack though, and that helps a bunch.

i run stage 5 nozzles.... but im pushing twins and they run nice... thay actaully idle smoother then my stock rv275 did........only downfall is not being able to see your buddys behind you as you start to pull away on them leaving a fairly large black cloud of smoke

something to remeber is with your HO your going to see 15+/- more HP than they are advertised for. So if you get say the 75 HP nozzles you'd probably see around 90 HP. With your comp on level one you should be able to tow with that. If you want to keep your stock clutch I wouldn't go with any thing bigger than the 50's. The 75's+comp=new clutch.

I have been very supprised with my Jammer 4s. On level ground empty I can't get over 800 degrees POST TURBO. On a decent grade I did back off at 900 degrees, but I was also around 2700 RPM. That was starting at 50 MPH and going to 90 something MPH. I get about 22 PSI with waste gate wide open. Can't coment on a box. I thought about going with 3's but I can control the temps with my foot and plan on complenting mods later.

BTW: went from stock injectors and have gained about 1 MPG and am still playing.

Wow, thanks for the replies. I know i will need a clutch soon that is on my listfor spring. From what you guys are saying i think i will be somewhere between the 75's or 100 nozzle. I think i will go with the 100 , i always seem to have to do things twice when i buy stuff cause i settle for things instead of buying what i wanted. Has anyone dynoed with a Comp and the 75's or 100 nozzles? How much hp will that combo yield?

Thanks for thr help

With the stock turbo on the eth, I wouldn't go any bigger than the jammer2's (80hp). Some guys will say go big and let the right foot dictate egt's, which is fine if your not towing, but that doesn't work so well with a heavy load.

We have had good luck with the Jammer Nozzles.. but I would recommend having the injectors pop off pressures checked... normally you will have one or two that will be off.. but I have had 5 out of spec in one set... (its not going to be any further off than the stock nozzles.) This goes for any brand nozzles..
I recommend 3's (100) for those that tow.. with the stock turbo.. (a little warm if you have an Hy) This is if you have an adjustable box, and have the ability to turn it off.. or down... If you are going to go to a larger turbo you can get by with a little larger injectors... If not towing much.. go for the 5's.. but if your not going to be upgrading the turbo, you'll not get the most out of the injectors.. (just more smoke)

I tow with my DDIII's (100hp) and if towing very heavy I have to turn the box off.. if just towing.. I can run on level 1 on the Comp box.. Stock turbo...

How do nozzles compare to whole injectors?

Disadvantages and advantages?
