Injectors Or Nozzles???????

im sure someone has asked but my searching didnt really help

i keep seeing high performance nozzles for sale that claim will produce as much horspower as some of the big injectors do for vp44 trucks

i also see that they cost much less than a whole injector kit

is this true or can somebody give me a pros and cons of that route or just point me in the right direction for info

thanks again

Nozzles are generally regarded as overrated smokier ways to get more HP where as full injectors are cleaner and closer if not over the advertised HP.

I run the Jammer Stg4 nozzles on my stock bodies. I would do it again in a heart beat. I paid 240 delivered to my door and for the money, you can't beat them. Mine dont smoke a lot unless I'm full on the throttle with the box turned up. I did it just to see what kind of change it made in my truck. Now I know if I want different injectors I can change and maybe upgrade and I know the money might be well spent. For a 240 dollar test it is one of the best upgrades I have made so far. Took about 2.5 hours to install and I have never been inside the motor before this point.

now when you guys say smokey are you talkin like general motor running and emits somwhat of a haze

i dont really mind the smokey part (not a big concern were i live)

dont get me wrong im all for injectors but it just seems like its worth trying out for under 300 bucks as were the "listed" equal injector is probly 1000 bucks plus core charges.

I am not made of money but i am still really into the diesel perfromance arena so im trying to maximize on a budget.

I know how the cheap route in most cases ends up being a bad idea.

I just wasnt really sure if the nozzles were a bunch of hype
but i think they might be worth trying out.

your injectors 'pop' open at a certain pressure, cummins has a spec as to where it should be.
when you replace your nozzles you should have your newly 'rebuilt' injector (nozzle assembled to stock body) 'pop' tested to make sure they 'pop' open at the recommended pressure. if they dont, the spring could be worn or shimming may be necessary.
