I'm in the same boat, looking for a set of injectors so I can leave the vp alone. I will upgrade the clutch and turbo in the future, so I'm thinkin of mach 4's, call me crazy. I would tow about 3000 while I have the stock turbo, and I'm careful with the egt's. I dunno, I'm still up in the air, 1.6 or 4's.

Ditto!
My truck with just an EZ was a distinctly quicker truck over stock. With mach 1.6's added its quicker yet. Without the box,it's a dog. Go with the box or Smarty first, upgrade tranny or clutch, then add injectors of your preference.

I would just like to say that I have been running injectors only for about three years now. I have EEP 100hp injectors, and no boost fooler. I just haven't messed with the waste gate, so it dosen't over boost by much. I rearely have any issues with EGT's. I do need to replace my VP soon, so much for injectors only being better than boxes. I have had the 0216 code since just before summer started. I have been tempting fate for at least 4-5 months. I did add a FASS system to try to keep the VP for as long as I can. I do have a big difference in hp over the stock truck. Someday I will bite the bullet and get a smarty, and a new VP, but I drive everyday for now, and don't have many problems.

Another option, which no one has mentioned, is the Edge Juice with Attitude box. Cost is about $800-900, which is about the price of a Smarty and a full set of gauges. But with the Juice box you also get turbo timer, gauge alarms, and you can run it withoout tapping the pump wire (which makes it act like an EZ box, I believe). I haven't decided myself what to invest in, either Smarty with fuel box like the TST, or Edge Juice with Attitude alone? What about Smarty with Edge Juice with Attitude box?
