Injectors with no box

Can I do this, or is it entirely useless. I can deal with the smoke. If I install injectors, do I have to haave some sort of performance module?

Thanks
Dima

From what I understand...no you do not need a box if you install injectors...but a box will greatly enhance the effect!!

you would need a boost fooler and boost elbow

what u need is a boost fooler that will keep the computer from defueling (also called anti-defueling device) this will give you the full potential of the injecors- generally runs between 50-75 bucks

I just bought Mach1 injectors from source auto, They didn't recomend a boost fooler, and suggested waiting on a box until I was ready to change the clutch. He indicated that would push it with just the 65 hp from the injector. But the injector would do better accross the entire power band...

You could probably get away with it if you leave your comp untapped. I ran the comp untapped and 275's for a while and it never slipped. I beat on it relentlessly.

I have an edge EZ for sale that would fit your truck for a great price and has the boost fooler built in. It works great with a set of injectors. PM me if interested.

With the mods in my sig my stock clutch is holding, but I think my vp is on it's way out. I have a hesitation with more than 3/4 throttle above 2200rpm and my pyro will not go above 1030*. Up to 2200rpm though it is a lot of fun

No you don't have to have a box. Mine run great and have minimal smoke. I can make a decent cloud if I really work at it, but with the new VP I have even less. Only once since the new pump have i been able to make a cloud I can't see through coming out of the pipe. Even at night in headlights I don't see a haze until over 15 PSI.

I can't wait to get the VA on it. Maybe tomorrow or the next day.

I got Mach II's. Nothing else. LOVE THEM!!!!! Does it De-fuel? Yes. Is it a PITA? No. I have tried to find a Boost fooler but due to the old style pump boxes not being used much anymore (I think power puck and VA's?)....they are hard to find. The EZ's have a fooler built in...so no need for an externial fooler anymore. There may be one out there that i don’t know about.

These injectors are fine by themselves. BUT once you induce a Mad ECM (Which by far was the best!!!! HOLY FREAKING COW!!!) or EZ....it will run.......run right through the clutch! I dont care if people say that their clutch is holding (With 90+ HP Sticks and box) ......they are not running it hard enough!! haha....it will slip if you have a stock clutch! I will lay money down on it! haha....Mine held OK for the first few days....then, for some reason, i kept hitting my red line upon acceleration! haha......can you say Con OFE?

Sorry to hijack, but your clutch doesn't even slip? I can slip mine really easy over 3x5 on the comp.

130,000 miles and the original vp44 and LP. Changed the fuel filter yesterday and checked the fuel pressure at idle-12lbs. I couldnt check it cruising or at WOT because I only have a fuel pressure test kit. I was expecting the clutch to slip under hard acceleration in 5th but, it hasn't even thought about it. On my way home from work tonight I started to pass a car that was going about 45 in a 55 zone. I downshifted to 4th, floored it, found some left over sand on the road from the snow we got last week, looked in my rearview mirror and saw two nice black marks about 10 feet long I think every clutch is different. It has a different past and different drivers. When empty, I always take off in 2nd without using the throttle until I have the clutch pedal fully released. When loaded I always use first for taking off. Stock clutch is holding more than I thought it ever would. I'm sure the hrvp44 and drag comp will take care of that though
