Which injectors to get

I have a 2001 H.O. 3500. I am looking to replace th estock injectors. The currently has the following setup ( Fass 150 lift pump, sheids diesel H.O injection pump, smarty programmer). I want to know which are the best injectors to get the truck is used for towing 20,000 lbs. I am planning on upgrading to twin turbos soon also, so which injectors will work with twins.
I have been looking at DDP, PPE injectors but i do not know what to get. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The guys at DDP are cool and know their stuff. If you are going with a bigger turbo/s you can get pretty large injectors.

With a stock turbo your topped out at 75hp injectors before it can't keep up.

x2, stock turbo will have a hard time keeping up with much bigger then stock and a programmer. I really like my ddp 150's especially with my compounds. And I know F1 makes quality injectors as well. I'm sure Sheid is in that same boat.

I will probably be the first to NOT recommend DDP for injectors especially with a HO and smarty. In my opinion there are far superior injectors on the market, as well as more affordable, and I woud not hesitate to run a set of 7x0.010"(100HP) injectors in your current stock form, towing that much weight. I currently have a set of 7x0.010" injectors in our 98.5 SO 5 speed that has 390,000+ miles, mated with a Smarty on level 5 and she runs like a dream. The truck also has an AirDog 150 pushing 23PSI of fuel, EGT's never over 1100*F and has enough ***** to spin over 33s when it's asked to. The injectors are also some of the cleanest burning we have run to date and I have been getting 18mpg so far this winter with this setup.

If you are going to go to compound turbos it is going to depend on what primary and secondary turbo you use to determine injectors. I wouldn't run anything smaller than a 7x0.012" in a set of compounds as you can limit fueling with a good box. These are just my opinions and I'm pretty sure not everyone will agree with them.

7x12's are a pretty big injector, especially if its being used in a small set of twins. For reference, Ron Allen did 1199 RWHP with a set of 7x13's, fuel only.

7*0.012" is what I call a 200HP injector and we run them on 64/71 chargers all the time and they are clean and low EGT. Put it in a small compound setup and you would be fine. 7*0.012" are good for 600HP or more depending on fueling mods. The 7*0.012" is the 5*0.014" of the 24V engines, extremely versatile and great for many many setups.

I forgot to mention that the truck has a S300 turbo on it currently not sure the dimensions, it was in the truck when I bought it. Also the Fass 150 thats on it only runs about 13-15 psi. is that a normal range.

I'm currently using DPP 300HP sized sticks on a stock HX-35. I try to run as big as stick as you can. The trouble is a HO pump only has enough fuel for about 500rwhp. A SO pump will do abit better for power. I'm would run at least a 7X12's, at least big enough you can feel the power increase

I can't tow anything heavy with these sticks, but the old truck rarely tows anything anyways.

You can run the biggest injector you like but the HO pump will only make 180 RWHP from injectors. After that it's tapped out. Just like the HO pump is only good for about 90 RWHP from a fueling/timing box. I've seen HO's in the mid 500 hp range, but there was some $$$ into them. I ended up in with ~525 out of mine after a few sets of injectors, a few sets of twins and some head work.

IMO, if you're going to tow, go with some 125-150 sticks. Once you get into that 500 range even if you can keep egt's in check you still have to keep and eye on coolant temps when towing heavy.

Look at and give Diesel Auto Power a call. He has some pretty good deals as well as his own brand of injectors that from my reading are pretty good. He is also very knowledgeable. He also has twin kits.

I have been out of the game for a couple years so take it with a grain of salt.
