I'd say get the turbo and see how towing egts are before buying injectors. You can always turn the comp up a little
So you think I should stay with the 275's for now, until I see how the EGT's are? That might work, because they do run fairly hot.
I'll have to think about that.
I definitely think the Mach 4's are out of the picture, until I get twins.

Thanks!

I'll give a real world example of my experience without the egging. I towed 7000 lbs recently with everything in my sig. In the mountains with over-drive locked out (3rd gear locked) I could pull some pretty decents grades around 70 mph taching around 2800 without EGT issues, overdrive was out of the question. Running on flat highway steady speed 70-75 mph in OD, EGTs would average between 900-1100. I could touch 1400 degrees for brief periods to pass. I did have to watch the pyro, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

If towing is your main goal get the 1.6's... I ran some old 1.5's for a while and they were great.

I've had 5 sets of DDP and 3 sets of F1. The F1 injectors idle better than the DDP. I run Mach 1.2's for my daily driver setup. They tow very well and average about 19mpg combined when empty. In full fuel, they made 517/996.

Sure, I've seen close to that number before on my pyro.

I try to be very conservative in my recommendations. Its all about balancing fuel and air to me. Well that, and I take Rjohnson's recommendations as gospel

Thanks for the kind words. I too, am conservative.
If someone is willing to live with hot temps so they can play when empty... more power to them.

I have made two road trips (5 hr and 2 full days) where I had to drive with one eye on the pyro. NO FUN! It's just not what I want from my truck.

But after Afganistan... it may be child's play for a Marine

Towing by watching the egt gauge all the time, would become a nuisance very fast . With my setup I rarely have to be concerned with egt's getting too toasty. Even with my original turbo(hy-35) egt's were seldom an issue, except long steep hills on hot days.

I finally got and installed my new turbo-Phat shaft 62/14 a few months ago. I picked up a TON of mid to upper end power(very noticeable while towing), and I only have to look at gauge, when I am forced to slow down to lower than normal hiway speeds in 4th o.d. gear.

Why not keep your RV275's injectors, with comp for extra fueling when needed, and Smarty for timing , and see how it performs 1st. before buying injectors. Check your e-mail for more info.

Lol. No kidding! Our vehicles here don't even need to come with gauges. There are more important things to watch for! Lol.

TORQUE,

That is what I am thinking as well. I have found these injectors now are a little hot, so they might be good for what I need.
