Re:Injectors or box

i would say a fueling box. i had 275's and a edge drag comp but ran it in ez mode "no wire peircing" and it was pretty cool i liked it alot! ;D but also it was all my stock tranny wanted!! if u still have a stock clutch u might want to upgrade that as well? i dont have a 5-6spd YET!! so i dont know how much the stock clutch will hold.

Re:Injectors or box

I would get a box first. You will end up with some injectors, it is just a matter of time. Get a bxo with a boost fooler, it is the most seat of the pants fun.

Re:Injectors or box

I believe since he has an ETH, I would say go with injectors. Injectors seem to be a better mod for the ETH, while a box seems to respond a bit better with an ETC.

Re:Injectors or box

I vote for injectors. I love mine and the response in the ETH is awesome. You have an EZ so anything above a DDII will definately give you clutch problems. DDII and EZ may slip it under heavy loads. Mine doesn't slip at all with just II's. Injectors are easy on the pump also.

Re:Injectors or box

I ran DD III's and a EZ for over a year with the stock HX35 with no problems. Even ran with a comp as high as 3/5 with no heat problems if I was carefull. My vote would be for the injectors.

Re:Injectors or box

With my HO, I went through the clutch with just DD2s and no box.

Get injectors and look hard at EDMs from Don M. I run around with the box off or on 1x1 and since you have the EZ, you're already getting the timing and boost/fuel re-map functions for street use.

As for size, I went with DD2s had high EGTs with stock turbo. Now I will be heading to EDM3s.

Tell Don or who ever you get injectors from what you want to do with your rig. Towing and weight vs running and playing.

Re:Injectors or box

The newest Mach 3...is one clean running injector. We just finished the revision. Very powerful...much less smoke, even over the previous 3's. 130HP easy.

Re:Injectors or box

Don,
How would you rate that injector against a honed stage II for smoke? Also, would the HX35 survive for at least a little while in an ETH with you 3's? I am trying to make all of my power from injectors (no fueling box) but I don't want too much more smoke than I have now with II's. Thanks.

Re:Injectors or box

Jason,

Do you have atleast a boost fooler? That's a minimal requirement.

More Power,
I would say to run some Mach 2's. MAYBE 3's, but that's only if you want to put in a clutch. The Mach 2's really pick up the midrangew power without much smoke, no smoke at light throttle.

Re:Injectors or box

Merrick,
I will have a boost fooler from Practical Solutions very soon. I am not afraid of a clutch or turbo upgrade. I just want streetable power without blacking out the sun. My II's smoke about as much as I would like. A little more wouldn't hurt but anymore smoke that what a honed 100hp injector puts out would be too much for me. I guess Mach II's are for me. I want more mid range anyway. Maybe Don could make me something between a mach 2 and mach 3.

Re:Injectors or box

I can build any size injector. Mach 2, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, etc.

A Mach 2 smokes about like a DD1 and makes 40 more HP. TQ is higher as well. Mach 2.3's make about 110HP, smoke like 80HP extrude honed. Again, more TQ.

Re:Injectors or box

Don i would like more than what i get out of 275's but would like to not run into heat issues i tow mabey 2 times a year.
And at that time gvw of truck and trailer is about 20000lbs.
I do drive rather heavy on the trottle but mabey bigger injectors would change that. I'm getting ready to do a south bend clutch with that in mind what do you recommend on injector
size staying with my edge ez.

Re:Injectors or box

Guys that tow have an advantage with the EDM's. The higher TQ helps move the weight better, using less fuel in many cases.

Mach 1.8 ( 90 HP ) no heat issues either. Perhaps less than what you run now with the RV275's because you really wont need as much pedal travel.
