Injector Pop-off pressure
Has anyone tried to lower the pop-off pressure of their injectors to induce earlier opening and thus advanced timing. Stock opening pressure is 4200ish psi so 3800 would noticeably give a little more timing advance. The only disadvantage would be that less psi = less fuel atomization. Has anyone played around with this, or did Bosch already perfect this when they set the happy medium of 4200 psi?

Improper pressure will affect the atomization of the fuel causing it to "spray" or "drip" instead of atomize. The better the fuel atomizes the better and more complete the burn. On many performance injectors, pressure is increased so compensate for the additional fuel. I do now however there is more to this than I know. I know for the 2gen 24v the pop pressure is between 280-300 bar and some higher in aftermarket injectors.
