Injector help!

I got some stage one injectors from TS performance awhile back and when i got the chance to put them in they didn't fit. So i figured they were the wrong ones so i sent them back. Well they called me and assured me they were the right ones, and sent them back to me. I got the chance to put them in again with all their instructions and i even down loaded bully dog's instructions, and guess what. They still didn't fit! I mean i spent 3 hours on one injector trying to figure out why it won't fit. The thing does't even go in half way. I know i am in the right area but what could be the problem besides me. Some body please help me and any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advace.

Just a guess here as I'm not all that well versed, but could they be for a 12 valve?

Well, they clearly can't help. One option is to get a refund & get ahold of Don M ... excellent injectors.

They should just snap into place with light to moderate pressure. They can then be rotated slightly if needed to align with the hold down. Sounds like somethings not right though.

Could it be that your new injectors are for a 12 valve engine. I don't have a 12 valve injector to compare so I don't know if they are bigger or not - but I am sure someone with a 12 valve will chime in soon.

When you removed an old injector to put in a new injector did you set the new one and the old one side by side and compare them?

I have changed injectors twice and they slip in fairly easily with a slight pressure.

Remember before you remove your old injectors to pull out the injector tubes.

Make sure the old copper washers come out before you put the new injectors and copper washers in.

FWIW I really like my Don M injectors.

Good luck

George

He has them in the classified section. The image he has with the ad is correct for a 24 valve. I wonder if they sent the wrong washers with the injectors.

As gandrews said, make sure the old washers come out when the original injectors are removed.

When i pulled the stock injectors out the held them side by side they are the exact same length but the diameters were way off. The washers weren't the issue it was the the part of the injector where it necks up in diameter the second time after the nozzel before the the last one with the o-ring. That part if anybody knows what i am talking about doesn't go past the threads.

I tried for the refund but they said too much time had gone by. I mean this is my ervery day driver so i tried to do it when i had the time not thinking that they wouldn't fit.

When you say injector tube do you mean the fuel lines? I have not heard that phrase in any of the instructions.

I am at a lose. I don't know what to to do. I sure can't afford to waist the money i spent on them. Any more opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks Again

The size and the shape of the new injectors you are trying to put in should be exactly like the ones you are taking out. If you see threads on the outside of the injector body, then they are the wrong ones. If you could post a picture of the ones you're putting in, that would help.

The connector tubes are under the fuel line connection at the cylinder head and intersect with the injector where it is installed under the valve cover. The tubes need to be pulled back enough to disengage them from injector before the injector can be removed. Are you confusing the connector tube with the injector itself? The injector is located under the valve cover unlike the older 12 valve models that are outside.

Sorry for the confusion.

I as referring to the "fuel injector connector tube" more commonly referred to as the "connector" that goes between the high pressure fuel line and the actual fuel injector.

The only experience I have had is going from stock to rv275s and from rv275s to Dons edms. I did not notice any difference in the diameters of the injectors and did not measure them.

Good luck

Hey, Fourknee.

Look over the installation instructions you've got carefully.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask them. Were here to help.

they sent you the wrong injectors and they wouldn't exchange them for the correct ones?

I'm not sure if they were the wrong injectors, or if there was some confusion about where they install, but it sounds like the vendor could have been more helpful in getting the problem resolved.

Let us know how it works out, Fourknee.

Yes! I finally got it. It was just the confusion from what the company told me. I was under the assumption that the injector tube was the actual injector and thats where i got the wrong size idea from. I thank everybody that helped me through my ordeal. After all your help it only took me an hour and a half just like i was told it would take.

The truck seems to idle a little harder. Is it normal?

Thanks again for all your guys help. I am glad this site exists.
