Injector help

i got some new injectors and started reading about how to install them and it says i need two specialty tools: Special Tool 8324 (Fuel Injector Connector
Tube Remover) and FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL TOOL 8318. i have been calling around trying to find them and i cant seem to find the tools. does anyone know of a website to get the tools or maybe there is a trick to get the connector tube and injectors off.

thanks for the help
josh

you dont need them.

use one of the valve cover retaining bolts to thread into the top of the injector to pop it out.

you dont need to remove the injector tube connector. just loosen the nuts (where the high pressure injector lines enter the head) to allow the injector tube to slide back a little when you pop the injector out.

where did you get these instructions from?

Be sure to slide to fuel tubes back a bit, you can damage them if the are still in the injector.

If you have a "98 you might need new injector tubes also.

You can also use one of the long bolts out of your intake horn if you don’t want to pull one out of the valve cover. Good luck.

Just did mine a month ago. First warm weather we have had all winter .I used the long intake bolt for the front 4 injectors and the short bolt and a pair of long nose pliers for the rear two for leverage.I used a small screw driver to pry out cross over tubes just a 1/4 " don't go much more because i had one come all the way out and it was a pain to get back in. Of course it had to be in the back. LOL You will love them when your done

another trick for getting the fuel line off #6 is chop an old (as i reach into my door pocket) wrench. kinda tight back there unless you have a stubby!

A tubing wrench (19mm from memory) works really well. I bought one just to do injectors with.
