Injector/DV combo
I am trying to build a DD 500hp truck. I have an hx-35 over a 26cm ht3b for air. Any suggestions on what injector/ dv combo i should use? First hand expierence would be appreciated. How would a ddp3 with 191 or half cuts (dont want to run lazer cuts) run compared to a ddp4 with say 191's or even my stock 181's? Im trying to keep it fuel efficient so im leaning towards the ddp3, they are rated to fuel 500hp but with what delivery valves?. Any opinions on running big dvs and smaller injectors vs big injectors with smaller dvs (within reason) might help me out. Thanks in advance!

lazer cuts and ddp4 will get you to 600 and then some. how are the lazer cuts as far as driveability? can you get on it a little without causing a blackout?

yeah on my 2500 the lazer cuts were fine if you went easy on it and even with the twins at WOT there was a blackout. I would like something cleaner, will my stock DV's and new era's 370's do this?

what injectors did you have in with the blackout on the twins? im not farmiliar with the new era 370 but i hear most 370's have the wrong spray pattern for our engines which leads to higher egts, smoke, haze at idle, and poorer fuel economy.

wow, now i really dont want the lazer cuts, but thats what im trying to do on here, learn from others. i want to do it once and be done with it. I think you would be better off with stock 181's or 191's with a bigger injector. the 370's might work good for you, ive never ran them but maybe someone that has will chime in, but im really stuck on ddp injectors. i hear nothing but good things about them from people on here and i have ridden in a truck with ddp2s and they make power with an increase in mpg. I still dont know if i should go with ddp4 or ddp3. Anyone run a ddp4 with 181 dv's or 191's? just curious on the driveability and smoke at wot with adequate air.

Laser cuts, even with stock injectors will flat out smoke. My cousin was running laser cuts, DDP4's and a 68mm single charger and it was pitch black smoke the whole time he was in it. He went to a good 71mm charger later and it got it down to a decent haze under full boost.
From what I have seen. You want to go as small as you can on the DV's and run a really good, clean injector for the least amount of smoke and EGT's.
I had 181's in my truck. They were really clean(no smoke at WOT) and EGT's stopped abut 1300*. I went to 191's and they haze a decent bit more under full boost, and EGT's peg 1500* in a hurry now. But power is up quite a bit. I have new era 370's waiting to go in it. Id like to try them with my 181's and see what the difference is in the 2 combinations power/smoke/EGT wise.
If I were you I would start out with 181's, and DDP4's(they are a great street injector). Then if you need a little more, 191's should give you what you want without much more smoke, and the twins should keep it pretty cool.

Here it is with:
Studded/ported/O-ring'd head with 60lb springs, 68mm charger, 2095 Rack plug, stock 180 pump with Laser Cuts, 4k GSK, DDP4's, #0 plate, and a helix 2 cam still with the stock fuel supply.

Could you give me a rough estimate on what my truck would be making.
Stock turbo
#10 fuel plate
181 dv's
SB intake
50 h\p injectors (larger ones will come)
The truck is a 94 manual 4x4
Just wondering of anyone has this setup and what thier H\P numbers are

Id say between 300-340hp would be a good estimate. If you have stock timing it may hurt it a little. Also, you need a 3k or 4k governor spring kit to really wake it up

hey eric you can consider running new 370's or 435's also, much cheaper. i would keep you 181's for now. after you get the twins on we can swap around valves. im considering running ddp4's or 435's if i run outa fuel. i just sold 435's and i kick myself for it. if i would have ddp3's now i would be upwards of 475-500. i mean i did 435 with 2's. but theres alot to play with the pump it's self to. afc spring, plate no plate ALL KINDS OF STUFF. i still have my stock sticks that i could send to new era or ddp to open up.
