Where can I find info on getting my Comp converted to the drag version.

They don't list any info on there websight about this conversion, can anybody tell me anythig about it. Price, time frame or complications on the install. I sent them an e-mail but who knows when I will get the response and I hate waiting.

 

I just bought a drag comp used and the guy also sent me the comp chip, it is about the size of a quarter, so I bet you turn around time is next to none

Does the drag version have a extra chip that plugs in somewhere else?

 

I used to assume that you send in your box and they upgrade but a previous post that said he got both chips got me to wondering, how does this work. I want to hook this up and kill this Injector Pump once and for all. I got a stock 99 pump with the comp pump wire hooked up, have run gas through it until the truck died, they all said that would kill it but we just siphoned the fuel out put diesel in started it up and drove away, and pulled hard with it. It doesn't throw any codes and always starts just doesn't have the power that it used to and this is all I can think of left to try. In good consience though I can't just pull it and put a new one on until I know it's the problem.

I'd rather just know for sure that it is good or bad but the dealer is wanting some hundred dollars to test it, and even if it's bad I still got to buy a new one, I'm to cheap to just arbitrarily replace it with out knowing but I've spent alot of time and money trying to figure out why this truck has lost so much power towing at highway speeds. It will still pull anything I hook up just takes alot of extra fuel to do it and always stays above 20# of boost just to maintain highway speed while pulling. I spend alot of time on the road away from home and if something is weak I need to fix it while I'm home. It's hard to be stranded pulling a trailer, makes it even harder when theres livestock involved in being stranded.

 

i sent my box to edge, they sent it back upgraded to the drag version. my understanding is the ONLY difference is the drag version fuels to 3200rpm on 5x5 setting ONLY. same curves, same in every other level and sub-level. it was ~$100 and less than a week. they may even pre-ship a drag version to you, but will charge you if the core is bad.
