It's about 92 degrees on average this week w/ high humidity and I know it sounds crazy but it seems quicker w. the A/C on, if you tell me I am crazy I will not argue but if u tell me I am right for some reason (Fuels more w/ A/C on???) I will not be surprised. I know my EGT's are always lower b/c the clutch fan (AKA Jet Engine) turns on but I can't figure out why the truck seems peppier while throwing an extra load on the engine. Go ahead, tell me i am nutz, It took me a while to get the moxy to post this one

I dunno, but I almost always have my AC on when drag racing. Most of the time it's too hot to not have it on, since you are supposed to run with your windows up . Besides, I have so much torque I never notice a difference when the AC is on.
I did have a track official yell at me once because I was dripping condensation on the track. Some day I will put a bottle on there to catch the condensation.

OK, Now I know I am crazy ...I thought maybe the PCM fueled a bit more w/ the AC on or something. Either way, it is so cool that the AC is so minimal to this engine, I drive a 98' Vette also and u can instantly feel the difference w/ the AC on.

When I run my A/C, the fan cluth kick in more. I think the sound of that fan engaged and the tach up around 3000rmps makes it sound a lot faster.
I've always noticked how insignificant the power that the compressor takes from the engine. In most cars and trucks, when the compressor clutch engages, the rpms drop, then the computer has to rev it up to keep it from stumbling. In the mighty Cummins, you head the clutch click and nothing else, no load on the engine or anyting. Amazing...
