Question Illinois Performance Shops?

Can anyone help me locate a GOOD performance shop in the northern Illinois area? I'm ready to do some work to my engine and would like to pick some other brains.

I live just outside of Rock Falls, Illinois. Right smack in the middle of corn and bean fields. Doesn't get any closer to god's country.

If you think northern Illinois. is god's country I sure would hate to see hell! I realize you said Rock Falls, but Rockford is the arm pit of planet Earth, and Chicago is the place where the sun don't shine!

AND Illinois is a blue state!

You need to get out more.

I didn't realize that Chicago was in Illinois...at least that is what most people from Illinois think. It should be it's own state. And Rockford, I lived close to 35 years in that area. I have to agree that city is low on the favorite place.
I noticed Geico 266, your're from Nebraska. I spent 2 weeks in the sandhills this July. I have to admit, that area does beat Illinois for tranquility. So no complaints from my end.
But anyway, still looking for a qualified shop. If nothing pops up, I'll have to break out my mechanics tools and start busting knuckles again.

P.S. the only reason Illinois is a blue state is Chicago!!!

Scheid Diesel in Effingham is a Cummins Authorized Repair Center. They have worked miracles on many diesel trucks. Visit thier website and have a look at thier 1,000+HP/1,800ft.lb pulling truck, a 4WD Dodge 1T CTD.

I went through Mt Carroll last week. Came through on my way home from Iowa (bird hunting).
Have you done any performance improvements on your rig?
I have a daily driver and also pull a horse trailer on weekends. I pull across the scales anywhere from 20,000 to 22,000 lbs. So, looking for alittle more power.
I have already put a 4" exhaust system on and now ordering guages.
According to what I read on this forum; I will probably install a edge ez and some form of intake. That may be enough but who knows, injectors may be on the list.
I'm mechanically capable however time is always a issue. So, I thought I could find a place to get the work done that I don't have time for.

You make a good point.

I spent many days canoeing and fishing the Kishwaukee River (and its tributaries) south of Rockford, IL. when I was a young lad. It is pretty country.

You might also try the Cummins dealer in Bloomington, I know alot of these old farmers around here buy there truck and take it right from the dealer lot to them to juice it up. They don't do much on aftermarket stuff but they will get everything there is out of the stock truck.
