how about this? this is not my truck, this is Shovelhead's truck. i like this setup the best so far. i like the idea of ALL gauges in one spot, plus it's really easy to glance down there while driving. when i do gauges, this is what i'll do (unless someone can show me more options).

A lot of these are great ideas, but I'd still like to find something a little more "factory". The one over the rear-view would be great, but whats that look like from in front of the truck when you can see all the wiring and everything tucked behind the pod?

im pretty sure the overhead mount is for 3rd gens only (not enough room between mirror & factory overhead on 2nd gens). also, i think all the lines & wires could be tucked in the headliner then down the a-pillar(s).

Yeah, the overhead is only for the 3rd gens. I have seen some custom ones with fiberglass and bondo, actually attatched to the factory overhead console. Looks pretty sharp when it's done right, takes a lot of time. I don't really have that right now lol. I think I've figured it out though. I had the edge attitude on the pillar and next to it on the dash I put in an isspro gauge for the rear diff. Well I'll still have enough room to put in a 3 gauge pillar mount then one for the steering wheel column, so that'll make 5 right there. All white face, black numbers, and orange needles! I also stumbled on an instrument cluster for the 2nd gens on e-bay that is a black background but the actual gauges on the panel are white faced and black numbers and letters, and orange needles! So all my gauges will match the instrument panel as well, will look really great it all matching!

That's not a bad looking set-up. Something to consider since I have been pondering how to go about getting some sort of in dash gps rather than have something suctioned to my windshield. Don't know what I'd do with the space where my CD player is right now though?

Joe Diesel...
Yeah, I guess she can do that lol. I'd have to think of what I'd need to make one of those though, as far as the purpose of it. Got a CB, GPS would be nice.
