I was just curious I am a college student with little money just bought my first CTD after wanting one since 8th grade. I have a 99 2500 4x4 3" straight pipe it smokes on start up, but I want more smoke. I really dont care bout power yet. I do not have the money to do my engine up right yet so. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to getter to smoke without putting to much into it. I would greatly appriciate it.

 

A fueling box will get you the smoke you need. Getting smoke out of a stocker means you aren't running efficiently and are wasting power. Remember black smoke means unburnt fuel if I remember correctly.

Smoke with no power? Try removing an intercooler boot.

I still don't know what the infatuation is with barfing out a bunch of black smoke. For some crazy reason, I always thought that a diesel engine was designed to burn fuel, not shoot it out the exhaust.

The MAD ECM adds a lot too. You could also get some 155 horse injectors or the nozzels. Your pic all have ups and downs. Might want fuel pressure and egt gauge before you do any of this.

HA i can tint 4 or 5 cars that are directly behind me with stacks. being as how ive run them both, the stacks are MUCH better for smoking people. Espcially tailgaters.

I guess I'm weird, but I think blowing a bunch of black smoke makes my truck look like a piece of S***!!! There is a dude in my town that has a white dodge with stacks, and when driving behind him I can't see a stinkin thing because his truck pukes so much smoke that I just want to pull him out of his truck and beat the crap out of him. Its annoying as hell!!! Some guys like smoke which that's there thing, but me I prefer mine not to!
