Found out today that pieces of the #6 piston managed to take out the turbo as well!

So... I need some suggestions for a replacement. Money is a factor considering the thousands of dollars the rebuild is going to cost me. I will be rebuilding the engine to the config in my sig (with the exception of a 4" exhaust) but I imagine there is a better alternative to just a plain old HX35.

Also, I'd like a turbo that will support the additional power when the day comes that I decide to tap the pump wire.

Have you tried to find a good used engine from a wrecking yard? might save big time. What HP will you be at with wire tapped? That might help figure out what turbo you will need.

 

"Good" used engines are hard to come by... no luck so far.

I guess-timate that I'd be in the ballpark of 350 rwhp with the wire tapped, but I can't say for sure... Never got the chance to dyno.
