How bout a chevette with a 350 in it? That should fit in the back of your bed.

Sleepers
this is where mine came from. they did a nice job on it, its better than an extended cab.

LanceD,

That McKinley conversion looks great. How long have you had it and any issues with it? Did you convert one of the front seats to flip forward for access?

I'll probably give them a call next week, but I'm almost afraid to ask the $$$.

Its been on the truck since I bought it. The both seats slide forward enough to get in and out easy, I don't think they were changed at all. The only problem I have had with it is that when you do alot of flexing on rocks and off roading, the rubber boot tends to come off, but it only takes a few minutes to pull the carpet down and squish it back on there when youre done wheelin. I think the conversion was around 3 grand but you might want to call them, I have no clue.

By some incredible coincidence, I saw a 3500 with a 1/2 cap on the back in the lot on campus, so I went over to check it out and what do you know - it had a tag on it that said "McKinley Custom Conversions made especially for..." It looked very well done, and it looked like a lot more room in the back seat then my 99 quad cab.

So the bed and the cab are not attached except for the rubber boot? Does that create a lot of road/ exhaust noise in the cab?

We are planning on expanding the family later this year and were concerned the regular cab 97 would be too small, but this option looks a lot better then a new truck!

I beieve that I will be going with Cowtown since MiKinley has seemed to go out of buisness. The one I'm looking at is under $2,000 and all you have to do is remove the rear window, you get into it from the bed.

THAT is sweet, does it get in the way of your hitch? Now if you had all my lights and cab mounted airhorns, and let's get some big sticks and a bad box on that thing, so we can get some smoke out of them stacks. Then you can live up to your name
