I think you'll be happy with the HX-35 Dodgenit, it's a versatile little charger. The hot side of the HX is a little small but your head breath better than my 12 valve so you should be fine. I think you'll notice a nice gain in power, once you get used to the lag it's just another thing. plus you can always swap housings ect... easily and there is a ton of parts and info to do so, which Im sure you know already. have fun with it.

Cummins drvr, no not a cheep China one. Its a Holset from a shop in Idaho If I remember location right. Brand new with warrenty, and a 98% approval rating over the last year. I made sure all was good way before clickin next.
Im confident I think it will be just what I need right now.

One other thing.. Does a new turbo need a break in period? It should be arriving this week and Im dragin friday night. I'd love to get it in befor then, but not if I might damage it throwing it in and mashin it with extra fuel a day later.

No real break in period. Just run some oil through it before you start it. Then drive it several miles easy, and basically once it has been on long enough to get everything oiled real good, let the fun begin. Id say 5 or 10 miles should have it lubed plenty good enough to let it eat.

No, your motor wont build oil pressure until it has ran for a couple seconds. Just take a jug of oil and pour some into the turbo while you spin the shaft. It just helps to keep it lubed for the first start.

Pour it into where the oil line goes right?
Do I need to worry about getting air in the oil line while its off and having to bleed it?
Or is that partly what pouring in the extra oil is for?

I just bought an 05 3rd gen turbo for mine. Im anxious to see how it does. Just gotta order some parts so i can install it and then ill be good to go.

Is that gonna replace your HX-40/16?
My brothers seems laggy to me, Im sure there will be a major differance between his 05 and your 12v. Let us know how it goes!

Yep, its gonna take place of the HX40. I cant pull work stock with an HX40 because it wasnt an original dodge/cummins turbo out of a 1ton or smaller truck.
The HE351cw should spool a good bit better than the HX40, and flow more air. I think ill be happy with it. Ill post up a writeup when i get it done.
