Good for a stocker or maybe just an ez. Anything more and you should upgrade.

You can usually find a used hx35/12 pretty cheap or step up to a pdr-35 or Dodgezilla.

What do plan on doing with your truck? Mods?

Im getting the edge juice today, i got an intake. I want to put a full exhaust on. The main reason I bought the juice w the attitude was for the turbo timer, gauges, and all the other cool stuff. I dont want to kill my tranny just yet so I'm going to run it on the low setting for now.

Well, my truck with just an EZ and dd2's will get hot very quick if I'm not careful. It's nothing to worry about for everyday driving but towing and hot-rodding can be challenging. Especially with 3.54's and 35" tires.

Depending on how far you plan on going with your truck I'd at the very least upgrade to hx-35/12. With the juice on "kill" I'll bet you'll have no problems pegging your pyro.

Are they good? Yes they are fine if used properly. Cant tell for sure as you have no sig nor do you state what you have planned for your truck. Stock they are fine, moderate power is fine (up to 300-325ish hp). I ran my hy for 140k with an ez and 275's. It worked great. Spooled very quick. It could get a bit hot though on long towing pulls through the mountains here. After I put a catcher ecm in it would bark like nobody's business. After every shift. Couldnt drive around it or through it. So I upgraded to an HX from Piers. If I recall the HY starts to get out of its map at approx 28psi. It will certainly work past that but starts pushing hotter and hotter air. With my 275s and ez it would do 31psi. Which was on the edge but how often are you really at that high of boost. The 9cm housing is just more restrictive than the HX 12cm. The 9 spools quicker but you lose it on the upper end. They came stock on the autos because the autos have a harder time getting boost up off the line and at lower speeds due to the torque converter not putting full load on the engine like a manual would.

edit
Looks like while I was typing you fixed your sig. With the juice you may be on the upper end as the previous poster mentioned. I would run it and see how it goes. You can always turn down the juice until you get an upgrade if need be.

Yeah,I run a compdrag tapped and thats it for fuel.On 5x5 it smokes like crazy, any throttle in 3rd or 4th it will smoke until it lights up.I had it turnbuckled for a day and noticed upwards of 40psi but less power for sure, the turbo heats up too quick,so I run it wastegated again and the truck hauls but smokes alot.i'm only running moderate power so it will suffice for now.as far as egts, I rarely see over 1000 with my 5 inch exhaust, bhaf and 6 inch stacks.Dont run these turnbuckled or they will eventually fail prematurely. They are the worst turbo on the dodge as I've heard

You know for being a stock turbo I can't really complain with mine. It spools quick as heck and driveability is awesome........the only downfall is that is doesn't take much performance mods before it starts running out of breath.

I've had my COMP on for almost a year now and it works great. On 5X5 kill mode on the COMP it will get really hot, but if you are planning on running on lower settings the turbo will suit you just fine. I don't think they are a bad turbo.........they just weren't designed for lots of power!!

If you are worried about your boost on the Hy.. use a manual boost controller.. it takes some work to install on the HY... or use a spring on the turn buckle...
Like others have said.. if you're going to add much power... you're going to need something bigger... We had one with Comp and Jammer III's... it dynoed 365-370.. but it was smokey.. and hot...
Good Luck..

With my mods even towing, my egt's rarely get to 1200f pre-turbo with about 34-35 psi boost. Spool up is fantastic though , but I am losing some power on the upper end. I'm still patiently waiting for my PS62/14 to come in very soon, and will then post my findings. I've had excellent results with my little instaspool HY-35 for the past 6 years though.
