1st Gen, thanks! One more question, would you spend the 80 bucks on a rebuild kit while you had it apart, or will new journals etc mess with stuff?

Well, I assumed the second listing in my post was an HX 40 based solely on the Hx40 style exhaust housing. The seller, however, told me in a message that this is an HX 35. Did they ever make an HX 35 with an HX 40 style outlet for the exhaust housing?

Here is what the seller said,

"Thanks for your inquiry. It is an HX35W. Some of the following numbers were hard to read, maybe a digit could be wrong in the following numbers; waste-gate cover #3593028, turbine housing # 353221?, turbine outlet ID exhaust 66mm/2-5/8". Compressor inlet ID 2-3/16" 56mm. Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, I will do my best. Thanks, Clarence"

What do you all think, is this a 40 or a 35?

It a HX-35. You can do a rebuild just look at the shaft for were and the comp housing for contact If all looks good I would just run it.
