I have to disagree with you on that. In order to get quicker spool up you would go with a smaller exhaust housing which would need to be wastegated in order to keep boost at a safe level and not flow as well as a larger, non gated one. You'll basically be sacrificing your top end flow for quicker spool. You'd generally get more top end flow out of a non gated housing because it has to be made bigger in order to keep boost at a safe level but you'd sacrifice some spool up.

Maybe you need to reread what you quoted. It appears that your statement is a rewording of my statement, meaning you stated you don't agree and then restated exactly what I stated in fewer words.

And for the record, a 12 cm non gated housing will spool faster than an internally gated 12 cm housing.

I believe the s300 turbos can be taken off the CATs in small dump trucks and the like. I cant remember the models of the CAT engine nor the trucks.
