Red face Hx40= Rip

Had a HX40 put on about 4k miles ago. Stock injectors and 16º timing I was pushing 35PSI boost with 16cm housing..

Put in Laser cut delivery valves yesterday.. Raised my boost to 45PSI..

Today, went to a buddys house to drop off some parts.. Let him take it for a ride.. He made one 1/4 mile pass (closed course) and then I did... Then I took it for a 1/4 run.. Got about 1/2 way through and hit 45PSI then I hear a grinding WHEEEWWWWWW sound.. OH CRAP.. turbo dead..

Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement? I can get HTT through one of my distributors..

Thanks!

I realize the 45 probably wasn't healthy.. But 100 miles hitting 45PSI a couple times and killing it..

Laser Cut DV's are a certain way to get boost #'s into high 40's / low 50's. I know with ADP Plate centered, 370's, & ADP Laser Cut's I was driving on like 1/8th throttle all the time. That was all that was required to accelerate & maintain speed. On a hard stab from 1/8 throttle to just around/over 1/2 I saw 50PSI on my stock charger! That's currently why I'm running a borrowed set of 181's, that Duramax just decided he had to play....least he took his beating like a man.

Not sure if JR has any Lil 55's right now, but if you can stand to wait you will LOVE that charger. Its definately what you need on a heavily fueled 12V like yours.

Its what I'm planning on buying for sled pulling next year!

I am almost posative Haisley Machine has them. I do know they have the HX35 and HX40 hybrids. I know nothing about the other turbos mentioned as I am rather new to boming the B engine.

was this a stock 40?

I had a stock 40 that was balanced by majestic... I ran it at 42psi from the day I installed it... it had about 30k miles on it when I sold the truck... I had it set at 45psi for a few days after I ground the plate again... it ran just as good at 39psi

HTT is out about 3 weeks on the HTBG turbos.. I am wondering if I could just go with one of those for now.. I think it'd handle my fuel...

After I put the delivery valves in.. I'm really happy with the power and I'm not sure I want any more right now.

don't do the HTBG, it's smaller than an HX40!
