Cool HX35 Hybrid

Is anyone runnin a HX35 hybrid with stock injectors if so How does it run?

They run quite well.

The exhaust housing size/type will have alot to do with it.

I mainly want bigger/better turbo and run stock injectors and I know an HX40 will be too laggy.

Why? If your current turbo is keeping your EGT's in check then I'd leave it. Bigger isn't always better.

With stock fueling, any turbo mods are a WASTE OF MONEY.

Spend your money on exhaust and intake mods that will pave the way for a larger charger and/or more fuel.

Exactly. Not to mention your gonna need a boost fooler to fool the computer. If there's no fueling box on the truck, then it's pointless to up the boost. I don't know what the compressor range of a hybrid 35 is, but I can't imagine it would be much more than a stock hx35 which is good to about 35-36 psi. Why waste the money for an extra 5 psi of boost when your not gonna gain any more power or cooler EGT's?

HX40's aren't bad with stock injectors if you are running a manual trans and a box like an edge comp or similar. Throw a new Super 40 on it and it will run fine and then you wont have to upgrade when you throw in some huge extrude-hones or edm's.

Fill out your signature a little more and you could probably get the right advice.

The box that is on there came with the boost fooler cause its already spoolin 35 at the max...and the 35/40 spools 42 max

I am thinking about an Edge EZ + RV275's with a piers modified HX35.

Wondering how much of a difference this'll make vs the stock HX35.

Looking for tons of bottom end power.

Perhaps with the modified HX35 I'll be able to run the Edge on Jumper 3 (i.e. EZ Jumper setting 3: 67% of additional fuel is added at 0 psi boost 100% is added at 10 psi boost).

Then there's the choice between a 14 or 16 cm exhaust housing.

Thoughts?

njoverkill, I'm running 275's with a comp in EZ mode, a scotty 2 with the hole, and 4" straight pipe with an HY35 and the highest EGT I've seen is 1150* with the comp on 5x5. The bottom end is incredibly strong. My roommate is running mach 1.5's with a comp in EZ mode (waiting on clutch) with a BHAF and 3" straight pipe and the factory HX35 (his is an HO 6 spd) and the highest he has seen is 1200*. The bottom end on that truck is scary. More than enough to light up his 35" tires. I'd stick with the factory turbo if the EGT's are alright. No sense in spending the money on a new turbo if the factory turbo is doing it's job.

3krackerracing, if the egt's aren't an issue, then I wouldn't worry about it. No sense in putting stress on the headgasket and other parts if it's not worth it.

Ok then with my truck now I see about 1190* I dont think I would want to use a box being how high my EGT's seem now. I guess I gotta look the truck over then. The boost is maxing at 22.1 so I didn't think I would have a boost leak. The X-monitor keeps track of peaks, so that helps. This is empty too.
