HX 35/40 ?s

I just installed the HTTurbo stage III upgrade which turns my 35 to a 35/40 with the 60mm compressor wheel. I also have a 16cm2 non wastegated turbine housing. My question how much boost is safe with my engine and this new turbo setup?. The thing spools so quickly by the time I look at the gauge its already over 35 #s and my gauge olny goes to 35#s. I also put in some 370 injectors and it doesnt seem to smoke as much as I had expected but then again it was dark.. So far all is good just a little worried about boost.. What do you think?.

I can normally see my smoke a lot more at night than during the day, especially if a car is close behind (and deserving it ). I'm not sure how much that turbo can push but the motor can handle 50-55psi on the stock headgasket.

Sounds good, how high are your egts and do you have larger delivery valves?

I ran the stage III 6 blade hybrid from HTT with the 16cm housing for several years on my 180HP manula trannied 12v. my only issue was that it needed injectors to get it going, mine prior to the 370's was sluggish to get started spooling and thus my EGT's were hard to control sometimes, after the injectors, the turbo would snap right to it and the EGT were actually slower to rise. About 34 psi was max efficiency where EGT's would hold at 1250 pulling a trailer, mine would twist to 40 psi so no problem. above 34psi the pyro would climb quickly. I would mainly watch your pyro. Oh yeah the truck gathered 200k+ miles running that turbo and it was still tight when i sold the truck.

I didnt run delivery valves they werent necessary with my pump.

I run mine to about 45 psi with no problems at all and EGT's stay put. It's been like this for about 2 years.

it runs right at 620* at 65 mph and it will go to 1300* but not as fast as the 300s and the stock 35. Delivery valves are stockers. It seems to run great no stumbles or studders that I have noticed.. Just doesnt seem to smoke as much as I would have thought with the 370s.

Do you think my lack of smoke is caused by my limited delivery valves? It seems to smoke about the same as it did with the stock hx 35 and 300 injectors. I was expecting more. Any one have some 181 dvs available?

I have been told my numerous people on this site with the small pump's dv's that using the 370s will not let the injector work to its full potential. I already tried searching for some 181s and piers has them but they are more expensive than 191s.

Where can I find some 191s then? is there any problems running 191s? I just heard that the 181s are fine.
