Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

I want to get some mud guards for my new 03 2500 QC to prevent the rock chips. I have the Husky's on a current F150 we have and they have held up real well. Can someone tell me or better yet show some pictures of the Mopar Guards and/or the Husky Guards on the new Ram's? Do both brands require drilling new holes? Thanks

BTW - this is a great site for us newbies to the CTD Ram. Thanks much.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

Welcome to the site.
I used the MOPAR flaps on the last 3 trucks...worked great!

On my 04, I am using Cloud Rider flaps. Nice product and the dually flaps flare out. Nice stainless on them too. I'll try and get some pix later on today and post.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

Hi eswartz,

I have the mopar heavy duty rubber flaps on my truck. I really like them...look like they belong on the truck. Yes, you have to drill one or two holes...no big deal. I do not have a picture. I really need to get a cheap digi camera for instances like this..... :-

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

I have Husky Liners molded mudflaps on my truck. Two holes needs to be drilled. Looks good on the Dodge Ram. I have a pic of the truck in the picture gallery. Look for "MikeyB". I will try to take some better pics when I get home this evening.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

You can find them at www.dodgeparts.com

Here is a direct link to them. They look kinda small...I'd like to see them installed on a rig before I order a set.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

I have the Dodge ones my truck and like them quite well. Helps break up the monotone look of the white trucks.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

Just a quick note. Run a bead of RTV between the flap and the body. This will keep dirt from building up between the two.

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

You might want to consider NorthWest Custom flaps in stainless. A little spendy, but they are the best performance and looking!

Re:Husky vs Mopar Mud Guards

The Husky's come with a 3M film that goes between the mud flap and the truck, thus reducing or eliminating paint wear (no need for silicon bead). The Molding is simpler than the Mopars, in that they don't have a spot (dish) on the top that fills with dirt (you can't see the dish after their mounted). They can be had for $25 a pair at Summit (no shipping charge). The only Down side is that the side facing the tire is dished insted of flat (small concession).
