I still have a hard time figuring out why everyone but me who runs the 62/71/13ss has no problem hitting 50psi and I can't get it past 44psi. I hope when I get my 4.5's in I will get the full ability of this turbo

I'm running a I.I. sps 62/71/14 here in Coors country and it works perfectly.
I do have the ATS 3- piece manifold and turbine housing professionally ported which does help. It spikes up to 45 psi and settles around 42 psi.
For that size turbo you need at least 400 rwhp on a 12 valve IMHO.

I don't doubt your honesty. Is that manifold ported? Or your head?
I just try to remember the impact our comments here can have on people bombing their trucks. My hx35 didn't start spooling until 1500 rpms so I can't see how something significantly larger could spool faster. My experience has differed from yours. I would just to hate to see people dropping that much coin on a turbo expecting to to spool faster than stock then end up SOL. Thus I feel obligated to play devils advocate when you say this turbo spools at 1300 rpms so that people can develop a more realistic expectation.
Its okay, my truck is a freak too. It made 542 hp with 35 lbs of boost =P

55psi on a DJ is REALLY pushing a 62 HARD. Was he spraying or just running a lotta fuel? That's probably 600hp worth of fuel with a bigger turbo or twins. He's got enough fuel to be running the SS16 housing, and he'd gain power, too.
55psi at 3K elevation is well over 5:1 PR.
The map for the 62 doesn't even extend that far. The map is ragged edged out at about 3.8 PR. (about 37psi).
Not bad for a completely undersized turbo. Things only get worse on the street-- I'm sure he's well over 60psi on the street, eh?
For best efficiency, twins should be used imo at pressures over 45psi or so (I know, seems low, eh?)

What do you have for injectors and fuel? With my old 80hp DDP's, I couldn't do over 42 psi with this 62/13/71 SS. Switched to the Mach 4's and a whole different ball game. I can do 55 psi max but why pump smokin' hot air???

So theres where MikeD's 4.5's went to . Beat me to the gun on them bridleman, ohh well I found me a set of Mach 6's so I'm even happier

My head/manifold haven't been ported. I am seeing the gauge move at 1300rpm with the box on kill. I actually went to my truck with my junk camera & recorded a 15 second video while driving to the store. I was trying to tape while driving & gave you a little bark at the end. LOL The camera only holds 15 seconds of video & the picture quality sucks. I hope you can see it. Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuITdwqod1U

I think that it is the Dragon Fly injectors, my old JL 100hp sticks wouldn't spool it this fast. My turbo was the first Super Stock 62/71/14 produced by HTT, maybe they did more work to it or something. Were you able to see the tach? I wasn't lying to you.

Like I said I never doubted your honesty. The tach fades in and out on the vid, but its gives me a great idea. You don't need to be defensive, I just suggested your truck had a little magic It wasn't meant as an attack.
I ain't going any smaller on sticks! At this point, I think I'm going to sell my bike and go big in the spring
