HTT Killer B2 installed
I got a chance to install my new turbo yesterday. The install was pretty straight forward. The only work around problem I had was with the oil drain. The wastegate actuator arm was very close to the drain tube, the old drain tube just wouldn't go back into place without some modification. All that was needed was to cut about 2" section of the drain tube and replace it with some 3/4" radiator hose. The turbo compressor and turbine had to be reclocked just a tad.
This turbo is loud, but it has a deeper pitch than the stock turbo without silencer ring.
EGTs are back under control. Instead of reaching 1500 degrees at 75-80 WOT, I'm over 100 mph at around 1400.
The truck feels a bit stronger now.
EDIT: One other thing, get a spare piece of 4" exhaust pipe approx. 3" long just in case. It might help connecting the new downpipe to the old 4" exhaust. On my exhaust system the exhaust pipe coming from the dp had the flare and the new dp had a flare.
Thanks to TigerRag for the help and the garage space.

When I installed my KSB-1, my down pipe didn't meet up with the rest of the exhaust and I had to drive 4 1/2 hours home, hungover, with a straight down pipe droan all the way. That had to be the longest trip on my life.

Hey John, It's got some lag, but nothing you can't drive around. IMHO If you use a light pedal it drives normal, if you go about half pedal that's when you notice some lag and more smoke. If you floor it on a roll it doesn't seem to be too bad, once it hits 10 psi she's spools hard.
p.s. I tried to call you Monday around 7:30 p.m. I didn't leave a message, thought you might have still been out of town.

Mike:
Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear you are happy with the turbo!
I got back from Kentucky late Friday night of last week. I wanted to stay there through Saturday, but snow, ice and low temps were forecast for the mountains of Ky. and WV and I didn't want to be in those mountains in that stuff!! And I still saw snow flurries etc. but thankfully that was all. It apparently got worse later.
I'll try to call you Mike! Take care.

Hopefully it'll be on its way next week so I can get it done right after the tranny goes in!
