HTBG 57 turbo question

HTT makes a HTBG 57 turbo. Does anyone have info on this unit. I am thinking this may be something for my altitude (6000') and towing. My goal is 350 hp and towing in high elevation. I was told the 62 was a little big to spool in high elevation with Mach 1.6 injectors when towing. Just taking my time with this very important AND expensive purchase. Surely I can spool and cool without lag in high elevations. Just am not convinced on best turbo application. Anyone

About the only differance between and HTBG and a stock s300 is HTT's bearings (sp? I'm sleepy), it is available with a 12cm housing, and about 250 bucks. IMO go with a stock s300. You'll save some money and get the same thing acomplished. If you call around you can get one for cheaper than HTT's MSRP.

I ran a BD Super B...it spooled great, and cooled really well. I have a stock S300 with a 62mm wheel on it, and the BD had a bigger exhaust housing and turbine wheel, and spooled better...didn't cool quite as well, but not much different!

I'd say they're good for 400hp, so your 350hp plan at 6000' should be about right!

I ran a 62 at the same elevation you are talking about. Horrible is a understatement. I had 370's, GSK and a 100 plate. Empty was a blast, towing not so much fun. If I had to do it again I would buy the HTBG and not worry about it. The turbo I am running now is similar size to the HTBG, tows very well. I can still get hot towing, but I have to work at it. Empty the Jammer does not cool near as well as the 62.
And if you find the HTBG is to small for you, send it in and get an upgrade.

i recently bought one from new era diesel and am amazed at how well it does ...

my truck dyno'd 330 on just the injectors on dave dunbars dyno, and at fall brawl ...

i'm now running an ez so i figure i'm at about 400 rwhp and i can't get the pyro over 1000 ...

i recently hauled a jeep cherokee from south carolina to WV ...

no where near your elevation but when i pulled the long hill coming out of nc into virginia the pyro never went about 1000 ...

i even had my wife look at the speedo and pyro 'cause i thought no one would believe it ... 65 mph the whole way ... coolant got up there, but pyro didn't

most of the time the elevation around here is right at 2000 ...

i have no idea how much the increase in elevation will affect you, but this is the perfect turbo for my 400 hp 24 valve ...

good luck
