Exclamation HRVP 44 Nasty Idle???

Just got my Industrial Injection HRVP 44 put on today. Is my engine supose to idle at 900 rpm and idle like a big block mopar??? People look and ask if something is wrong when they hear my idle at a light. Fast idle is not an option anymore due to the fact that things just don't sound nice... Is this all normal with the HRVP??

That's been the norm for a lot of guys. And if you have even the slightest leak in any of the lines, it will make it worse.

My idle is smooth, its just that when rpms drop when engaging the clutch I get the lope. It seems to be hit or miss and II says its normal and doesn't hurt anything.

Bob was talking about getting Marco to make us a special smarty software to help eliminate this, but I doubt Marco has had time yet =\

I hope Marco can fix this. It's kind of cool but it doesn't feel right at a set of lights or letting it warm up on high idle.. Thanks for the info guy's. At least I now know it's ok.

I saw a post on the TDR from Brady at II a week ago claiming that Marco had solved that problem for them...

Brady spoke out of turn. I told Brady that marco knows what is will take to fix the lope and he will do it when time permits.

Right now he is busy with another project

Everyones opinion of a healthy idle is completely different. The one thing consistant across the boards though is an idle change, though. So, yes, what youre experiencing is the norm.

Thanks for the clarification Bob. That was the one thing holding me back from the hotrod pump and that post made me feel a lot better.

At least it's good to know that a solution is out there, it'll just take some time to get rolling.
