hp limit on clutch , ?????????

does anyone no hp limits of a stock clutch on a 2001 24v ? truck is 4x4 nv4500 in it ,

you might get away with a edge comp box for a while. so 275hp

there is no way to accuratly answer that. what mods are you wanting the clutch to hold?

well the trany is going in a 1975 dodge lol with 215hp 12v enigne , 370's , lazer cuts , 58mm inducer set on hx-35 , thats it for now , what wondering if i can ran that clutch till i get the twins for it ,

With my old set up I dynoed 379 hp on a stocker, and it held unless i towed. (or was really rough on it)

If your doing all that AND already have the tranny out with intentions on installing twins, why not just put a clutch in it now??? Would that not be easier to do, with the trans out and being swapped than if you put it in, drive it for a couple months and burn the clutch, then have to pull it back out again????

Going the way your talking about just sounds like more future work to me.

it's ready together , thats way i figured i would use this one up first . the clutch i was loooking it is over 2000 bucks and 850 for the input shaft ,

i am pulling the engine and trany this winter to finish and pretty it up and i would likr to drive the truck before winter a bit ,

Realy it all depends on how its treated and how its been treated, rather its been lugged a lot etc. But for those mods its going to be hard to get to play much on a stocker

Clutches see tq, not hp.


Your stock clutch might hold 1000hp bolted to a turbo ricer.

My stocker held 375hp on the dyno, and I went over 3 years over 350hp before mine let go.

Only when I went to a 150hp injector with the smarty AND went to low elevation could I slip it.

Driving style matters a bunch.

my stock clutch holds 414 hp ever day and i pretty hard on it
