well with stock timing and that 12 housing i would say more like 400- 420. crank that timing on up 18-22. mabey a bigger ex housing and you could probably squezze a hot 500 hp. I know it's been done on a hx 40.

One thing made me think:
if he is close to 500 HP, the other day he raced a completly stock camaro,
but as the camaro driver wanted only 1!8 mile.

by that, he just won him by a truck lenght cuz its a 2wd, and the wheels slip lots. but at the 1!8 mile the cummins passed tha car very fast.

now those guys say... yeah u have about 500 hp and our stock car looses only by 1 car long.

but thanks guys. any opinions?

And thats when you say.... yeah it weighs about twice as much as yours and can truck pull, drag race, haul anything u wanna haul, or just go get some groceries and still get good fuel mileage to boot

thanks. sometimes one runs out of words... they get mad if they loose. thats one problem...

but its so true. that truck hauls trailers, he uses it for daily cruising, and for drag racing.

oh yeah: he onced towed a trailer up a hill and pressed that little pedal down, and he said that a v8 vortec gasser all empty couldnt go up as fast as he could with his 215 cummins with the htb2, 370s and 4kgsk

in the 1!4 mile, hard pull-it hits 1600*F easy. towing and so on, its very good.
maybe its not stock timing, i aint sure about that.

do you think there would be a egt reduction, when pressing the pedal down...?

I have stock timing and have never seen 1600*. I think stock timing gives it more torque, Ive tried 18* of timing and made the truck faster but I lost some torque and didn't like it, but put it back to stock 13.5* and I regained my torque. I like it this way when hauling because I can get a heavier load moving quickly but can not run over 80 mph. Combine that with my 4:10 gears and you could break your neck taking off.

I don't know 12v's well.... but my expirience tells me it takes around 500 hp with a single turbo, to get much over 100 mph in a 1/4 mile. That's assuming truck is not a lightened up drag racer, and weighs 7,000+/- lb.
If memory serves, I only remember breaking 100 once at 475 hp. JMO

thank you guys... so he must be over 500 or? or at least close to...

im not aware of a dyno over here... so it makes it hard...

all i know is that lots of rumors have been around that in seminole tx are lots of fast diesel trucks.... from guys speaking OUR mother language - german.
yup there is a german comunity....

so he went there.... nobody at all wanted to race him. he was a lil disapointed, and i guess he thought he is the fastest.
